"So what is it like to live a normal life. A life without rumors, without scolding looks, without accusations?" Raphael asked as they danced.

Sarafina looked into his eyes and replied, " I wouldn't know. There are rumors about my father too. Not to mention people always expecting you to turn out like your parents. So you could say I don't know anything about a normal life."

Raphael looked past her into the crowd and started to chuckle. "If only I could be normal like most of these people in this room. If only I could live one day without worries, and without being hated."

It was sad how he spoke about his life, it sounded so desolate and lonely. It made her think about her own life, how she really didn't have any close friends, and how her life was set on a never ending schedule. Although they were indeed different, they were yet the same. Both never really living normal lives and both seem to be as lonely as the other.

They danced gracefully, and happily together, as if they were meant to be together. As they whisked around in the crowd, Sarafina noticed that people were staring. It was just as Sarafina thought it would be. If she was seen with Raphael then people would stare uncomfortably at the two of them., but for some reason, she didn't care. She didn't care what other people thought about them. She, for once, found that she was very content and happy just being with Raphael, even if he had a tarnished name.

Suddenly a hand touched her shoulder, It was her father. He grabbed her and said, "I think it is time for us to leave." He looked at Raphael with a look that Sarafina had never seen in her fathers face. It was an angry look. She knew that something was wrong with this situation, and she didn't like it at all.

Raphael tried to object, but her father had a tight grip on her as he pulled her through the crowd to the exiting door. Her mother was waiting for the two of them, and as soon as she saw them she immediately started questioning Sarafina. "Why on earth would you be dancing with him? Do you have any idea what people say he has done?"

Sarafina looked at her mother confused, "What do you mean, what he has done?" Her mother never answered as they made their way to the carriage. Her father looked enraged and disappointed. Her mother kept babbling about "Out of all the other fine young men, she just had to chose the worst one. Oh where did I go wrong!"

What in the world was gong on? What is it that Raphael has done. He was accused of stealing a purse, but he couldn't have done that? Could he?
