Meet the Coaches- Parker Nelson

Coach Parker Nelson taught tennis lessons when he was in high school. In high school he played football, soccer, tennis, golf and was in drama. He graduated from Laurel High School in 1989.

"I didn't have a favorite subject in school," Coach Nelson said.

Coach Nelson was accepted to Jones Junior College with a football scholarship. He stayed at Jones for two years then transferred to University of Southern Mississippi. Then he got his Masters Degree at the University of South Alabama.

"I tried to go to med school," he said. "But I decided to be a teacher because practically my whole family was teachers."

Coach Nelson has coached football, soccer and volleyball. He currently teaches physical science at Foley but he has also taught chemistry and technology.

He has been in the National Guard for two and a half years; and has been married for eight years.
