9"Are you awake? Laura!" I yelled. "You have been unconscious for nearly a week!"
She looked at me bleakly. "What year is it?"
"It has only been a week!" Heather exclaimed dramatically.
Laura turned to Cherie "Where is William? He is going insane! He has a dagger! Save him from himself!"
Heather whispered to Cherie and I "Right before she passed out she saw William in thin air."
Laura turned back to me. "What happened to the cockroaches at school?"
"They-" I started before Ron interrupted
"School was canceled as soon as you passed out. We had to wait an hour before the buses arrived. I mean why would the buses return because of a cockroach invasion?" Laura smiled at the thought.
I turned to the others "Hey Heather, Cherie, could you two go sign Laura out and call our transportation? Ron, Don, could you go get Laura a wheelchair?" They left. I sat down on the edge of Laura's bed. "So what really happened?"
Laura stared at me. "What do you mean?"
"William left early that day and I know u thought you saw him because on the way to the hospital you kept muttering 'William, William, why?'"
Laura shook her head disapprovingly. "You don't believe me. Do you?"
"I do but Ron, Don, and Heather all saw you before you fainted."
Just then the twins arrived both somehow riding a wheelchair with no one pushing.
"Let's get you in that chair!' I helped Laura get up because she was still shaky and weak. The nurse came in followed closely by Cherie and Heather.
"Your dad is going to take us home." Cherie informed me.
On the way home Laura asked me "What happened with the cockroaches at school?"
I grinned. "First they tried fumigating the building but the roaches disappeared and came back as soon as the smoke evaporated away. Then they tried smashing the critters but there were too many so they tried moving them. As expected, they came back. When the school was officially shut down the twins and I snuck in for a little excitement. We tried to watch the source for all the roaches."
Laura pulled something out of her pocket. "These are the cockroaches I picked up the other day." I took the cup and stared intently at the pests.
Cherie broke the silence saying "Let's sneak back in!"
