'I always wished I had a puppy,' Jenni found herself thinking one gloomy Saturday afternoon, when it seemed there was nothing to do and even less on TV.
She got up off her bed and walked across the room to her walk in closet. She closed the door quietly behind her and knelt down on the carpeted floor. It took her several minutes to move all the boxes, but she was sure it would be worth the effort. Unless things had changed.
The very thought made her shiver, and she remembered to take her coat, purse, and mirror even in all her haste to get there before the moon came out.
Finally, at long long last, after what seemed like hours, she opened the tiny door in the wall. All around her, there was a pink swirling mist, and under her feet the purple carpet disappeared. She was there at last. No place like home!
