How To Take Over The World: Chapter 26.

One evening just after the exams, Julian came home and announced that it was over with Jessica. At those words, Will rolled his eyes. He had expected it from the beginning, it wasn't surprising in the least.

After dinner, Will went to read in his bedroom, leaving Julian and Ethan in front of the TV.

"You dumped her quickly," Ethan remarked.

"Yes, I was getting bored."

"As usual... Still, if it was to date her only for a couple of weeks, you should have stayed with Will instead."

"I left him like I left all the others. You know I can't date the same person for long," Julian replied.

"Wrong answer! You were with Will for several months. It's far longer than with the others. That's why I'm asking you why you left him. It wasn't really for Jessica, since you've already dumped her."

"You don't understand!" Julian retorted.

"No, I don't. So explain it to me."

"I... I don't know if I can. You won't say anything to Will, will you?"

"Er... What are you talking about?" Ethan asked, confused.

Julian wondered if it was a good idea to mention it. He knew Ethan wouldn't repeat it on purpose, but they were all very close and this sort of things could slip easily. But Julian wanted Ethan to know what had happened. He couldn't talk to Will about it, but at least, he wanted to talk about it with his other best friend, even though said best friend was also Will's best friend.

"It was different with Will. When I date someone, it's just for fun. But with Will, it was deeper, since we have known each other for so long. And, after some time, I realized I was falling for him... Really, I just wanted it to be for fun. If it had become more serious, one of us would have been hurt in the end. That's why I left him."

"Oh! I see. But it was too late, anyway," Ethan answered, reproachfully.

"I know. I hurt him. But it was better to do it before it got too serious."

"Julian, it couldn't have become more serious for Will. He's in love with you."

"And what can I do about it? He'll find somebody else, somebody better for him."

Ethan looked unconvinced, but didn't comment on it. "Besides, I'm not sure it was too late only for him," he added.

"What do you mean?" Julian asked.

"Julian, you dump everybody after a few weeks because you get bored and everything. But you remained with Will for several months and you didn't dump him because you were bored. On the contrary, you said you were falling for him. I think you're just ignoring the fact that you two are made for each other. Don't you realize that he's the only person you want to have a relationship with?"

"Pffft! I am not going out with him again!"

Ethan chuckled. "You should think about it a bit more."

"It's too late anyway."

"It's never too late..." Ethan said slowly as he was leaving the room.

A few days later, Daimot came to see Ethan and Andy: "Hi, Ethan! Hi, Demonling! I've got news for you. I hope nobody has already told you, Ethan, or else you're going to scold me once more for not telling you earlier. But I doubt you already know about it, since it has just been decided. In fact, Satan thinks we must strike quickly and strongly, if we want to teach Abaddon a lesson. The boss doesn't like how Seattle's demons and wizards act with us, so we're going to get the city back from them. Mwahahaha!"

"Wow! That's good news!" the wizard exclaimed. "We've had so much trouble with them. They should leave us alone after that... especially if we win."

"Oh, we sure intend to win," Daimot replied.

"Am I supposed to take part in the battle?" Andy asked, looking uncertain.

"Of course not!" Ethan protested.

Andy looked at his boyfriend. "But they may need my help. After all, you went to Seattle... I don't want to be useless."

"You're not useless!" Ethan replied.

"Listen, Demonling, you did very well in Los Angeles when the angels kidnapped you. But you're not that strong. It would be too dangerous for you... You could even be a hindrance for us, since we'd have to protect you. I'm not saying that to be mean to you or anything. You're far stronger than when I first met you, but it's not enough. Okay?"

"I understand," Andy answered with a pout.

"That's good," Ethan said, taking him in his arms. "Remember how you hated it when I went to Seattle? Well, it'd be the same for me if you wanted to go with them." Ethan caressed Andy's cheek. "Stay with me..."

The half-demon smiled. "You're right. It's not like I enjoy fighting or anything. Magic is fun, but I'm better off here with you than in the middle of a stupid war."

"Now, that's my Andy!" Ethan leaned forward and kissed him passionately.

"I think I'm going to leave now," Daimot snickered. "It looks like you don't want me here any more."

"Yeah... See you later, Daimot," Ethan muttered between two kisses.

The next week, Will was reading in his bedroom when he heard someone knocking at the door.

"Can I come in?" Julian asked, sounding hesitant.

"Of course. Since when do you need my permission?"

"I need to talk with you."

"Well, now that you're here, go ahead. I'm all ears."

"I talked with Ethan a few days ago and I've been thinking about it."

"You know, I have no idea what you're talking about," Will remarked.

"I'm sorry. I think I was afraid. Eh eh! We're evil wizards, so I guess we shouldn't be afraid of anything, but I've been pretty stupid. I know I've hurt you, so I hope you'll forgive me."

Now, Will knew exactly what Julian was talking about, even though the wizard hadn't mentioned it explicitly. "Julian, it's my fault too. I know how you are. I shouldn't have expected more."

"What?" Sometimes, he really didn't understand Julian.

"Don't say things like that. Don't think you were wrong. Stay the way you are. It's my own fault. I made a mistake and that's all."

"Okay... It's all right. We can't change what happened, anyway," Will declared.

"No, but we can change what will happen," Julian echoed.

For a few seconds, Will wondered what Julian meant by that. Then, he stopped thinking altogether as Julian's mouth was suddenly all over his and their tongues met and Julian's body was pressed against his. It was so good to feel these sensations again, and with Julian at that.

Will broke the kiss after a couple of minutes, looking thoughtful: "Are you serious about this?"

"I've never been that serious. It's okay for you, isn't it?" Julian said, still sounding a little worried, even though the other wizard's reaction had reassured him a lot. "Feel free to hit me if I ever get stupid again."

"I'll do it, you can be sure of that," Will replied. Then he added: "I missed you, Julian Maxwell."

"I missed you too, William Johnson." Julian smirked: "Now, I think we've got some catching up to do."

"It sounds good to me," the wizard answered quickly before pinning his boyfriend to the bed and kissing him wildly. "And we've got all the night to ourselves."

Some time later, Ethan realized that his friends' auras had been located in the same room for a particularly long time. He smiled inwardly. So they were back together. Julian sure needed that, maybe even more than Will, even though he didn't realize it himself.

A few days later, some of Satan's demons teleported to Seattle. Soon, they were joined in Limbo by Abaddon's demons. The latter were less numerous than Satan's forces, but they didn't intend to leave one of their cities to the enemy. Of course, they weren't fighting against angels here, but Abaddon's people wouldn't give in to demons who kept them from dominating the human world. After all, they were demons and were supposed to have all the power. Humans shouldn't rule the world.

The fights lasted for two days. For a day and a half, it was impossible to guess who was going to win the battle. Abaddon's forces were fierce enough to make up for their inferior number. In the end, six of Abaddon's demons and five of Satan's demons had been killed when Seattle's leader finally ordered retreat. Satan's people, exhausted, rejoiced in their victory. It had been difficult, but Abaddon had finally been taught a lesson: if you messed with Satan, there were consequences.

Before going back to Hell, Daimot decided to go see Ethan: "Hi! I'm exhausted and all I want now is to sleep, but I thought I'd come by before just to tell you that we won and that I'm all right. And so are Sherala, Hedis and Mekaos."

"That's great!" Andy replied. "You were gone a long time. Was it very difficult?"

Daimot laughed: "Nothing's difficult for me, Demonling. No, seriously, it was tough. And at one time, I was fighting a demon who was really strong. I had already been fighting for more than one day, so I wasn't at the best of my form, and I'm pretty sure I couldn't beat that guy. And then, Mekaos appeared, just like that. I don't mean he teleported, but he was fighting not far away and he came to my rescue. Eh eh! He's my hero! Honestly, I think he saved my life on that one. So I went to fight his previous opponent, who was more at my level. By the way, are you two going to Seattle for the protection spells?"

"Tomorrow, not now," Ethan answered. "We'll have our exam results tomorrow afternoon, and after that, we can go on holidays to Seattle for a few days and take care of the spells. What do you think, Andy?"

"Weren't we supposed to go on holidays to Los Angeles?" Andy asked.

"Yes, but that's next week. Of course, if you want to stay in San Francisco in between, I'm fine with that."

"No, no, it's okay. I'll go to Seattle with you."

"And maybe Stephen's motorbike will be where I left it. That way, he won't kill me when I go to LA."

The following day, it was time to go back to college for the results. Ethan and Andy both thought that they had done all right, but Andy couldn't help worrying a bit. Will had seen his results a few days before and had had excellent grades. Julian still had to wait for a few days, but couldn't be more relaxed than he already was.

When they finally reached the board where the results were posted, Andy breathed in, looked at the sheet of paper and sighed with relief. He had passed, and with rather good grades at that. Ethan's grades were a bit better than his, so of course the wizard had passed too.

Andy felt like launching himself at his boyfriend, but, really, that wouldn't do in such a public place. Guys didn't do that, and especially not two guys together. But as they were leaving the building, Ethan leaned towards Andy and whispered into his ear: "We should celebrate now."

"We're going to Seattle, aren't we?" Andy replied, faking innocence.

"For now, I was rather thinking of going to my bedroom," Ethan answered with a wink.

"That could do," Andy smiled.

"So, it was a good year, wasn't it?"

"I think hectic is a more appropriate term."

"Yes, a lot of things were new to you, but they were good things in general, weren't they? You discovered your demonic powers and learned how to use some of them, you passed your first year of Economics so that you can become a wealthy executive, and we got Los Angeles and Seattle back."

Andy laughed. "Are you sure you're not mixing two very different things here?"

"Of course not! They're all part of the Big Plan."

"The Big Plan?"

"Yes, the Big Plan to Take Over the World."

The End.

The Out-Takes: Chapter 26.

The End.

Daimot suddenly appeared out of nowhere. "Hey! Wait a minute! What do you mean, the End? Is this a joke, like in Chapter 1?"

The only answer he got was silence.

"Hey! Where are you, everybody? Ethan? Andy? Oh no, they are it again, so they can't protest again the end of the story. But at least, I'm here for that."

At that time, Mekaos teleported next to him.

"Mekaos, we've got to do something. It's the end of the story! It means we won't be in it any more. It's sooo awful!" Daimot babbled on.

Mekaos looked annoyed, grabbed Daimot by the arm and dragged him back to Hell: "Shut up! You can't do anything against it, so just shut up and come to bed."

Daimot looked offended for a few seconds, then looked thoughtful for a few more seconds and finally grinned: "Okay, let's go to bed."

The End.

Thank you for reading my story! I hope you loved it. I can't believe I wrote a novel-length story! I don't feel like it's been half a year since I started this. It's funny how it's just 26 chapters long, like a lot of anime. I didn't do it on purpose. I want to thank all my wonderful reviewers for supporting me during those six months. It makes me really happy every time someone leaves me a few words on my stories. To any new reader of this story, please review even though the story is finished. You can't imagine how happy that makes me (well, if you're a writer yourself, you can imagine it, of course ;-) ).
