Prologue:
Suburbia, USA. It's everywhere we look nowadays. Both sides of the coast, north and south... the middle even appears to have it. It's called "the sprawl effect" moving away from the city. I believe we would better think of it as the "American Dream", being to make sure when you have children there lives are better than yours or atleast the same.
Atleast that used to be the American Dream. I do believe now it's changed. The American Dream is inherently the suburbs. You want to work in the city with big careers as lawyers, doctors, bankers, and high-powered CEO's but then you want to drive an hour away to some small town where everyone else does the same and your kids all play sports, get good grades, drive nice cars, buy name-brands, and of course are going to college. Yes the new American dream, a house in a gated-community with 2.5 kids, a pool, and little backyard. Such joy!
Sadly, suburbia with all it's seemly perfection is like a road that when closely examined you can see the cracks, holes, and wear and tear. Really it's the parents fault in some ways, wanting this great life for there kids creates spoiled brats who only want to be like the kids on the "OC". On the other hand, it's the ungrateful kids who do not yet realize that compared to many people in the United States their lives are inherently unequal. The suburban kids see their lives as not up to scale with the lives on TV and therefore want more. The way to find more in their boring existence, create problems for themselves, live in a little bubble without acknowledging the rest of society.
So here is the newspaper ad you won't see, "Welcome to Suburbia! Come buy a house and join the posh lives of parents who are so political unless you get involved right away (or your kid happens to be THAT amazing) you will get nowhere. Make sure your kids get the best, but don't forget to give them the sex talk early and let them know that though drugs are illegal it's still quite easy to get them as long as long as they get a job to pay for it, that way their allowance can be spent on gas and food. If you are still looking thinking, 'wow this is too good to be true there's more! One of the best therapists in the country is here for when your marriage falls apart and your kids end up with depression."
Well, welcome to Suburbia: Uncut and Uncensored.
A/N: To anyone from suburbia… I'm sorry if this offends you truly I am. But then just don't read it because well no offense, but it's my story and I'll write it this way. But just so you know I'm a suburban kid, so I think in some ways I have a little bit of knowledge on this just as well as anyone else even if we have different opinions. Thanks… anyone else… hope you enjoy. Please read and review! )
