There have been quite a few major changes in the prologue and the very end of chapter 2 had a couple lines added to it. The biggest change is that Damian knows who he is! Chapter 1 is the only one that stayed the same. Hope you like the next chapter! Sry it took so long! Thank you for reviewing everyone.

Chapter 3- Moon Light

It had become a ritual. Damian would clean and help the servants during the afternoon then would sneak out of his room, across the hall, and up the stairs to Devin's. They would sit on the floor talking or playing games staying up into the early morning hours. When people were watching Devin and Damian were prince and servant but when people weren't they were best friends.

It was early in the morning when Damian woke up to screaming. He jumped out of his cot and bolted down the hall following the sound. As he approached the main hall the screaming grew louder. When he burst into the room he was shocked to find Devin on the floor blood surrounding him. His father stood over him a bloody whip in his hand.

The king hadn't even looked up when Damian had burst into the room. He just raised the whip high over his head and brought it down hard towards its target. But the whip didn't hit Devon again. Damian lunged across the room and slid against Devin pushing him out of the way as the whip came crashing down him instead.

The king stood there stunned for a second trying to figure out what just happened then let out a terrifying yell that echoed through the palace as if it were a cave. He glared icily down at Damian who, in turn, stared calmly right back. The king arched a shocked eyebrow when Damian uttered neither a whimper nor a plea. He just lay there calmly awaiting his fate. Anger surged through the king and he raised the whip above his head but a hand stopped him.

The king turned to face his general. "What do you think your doing," he hissed.

The general motioned for the king to follow him away from the crowd. "I've got a better punishment for both of the boys."

The king smirked, "go on."

"Send them to training camp. I'll teach them a lesson or two about respecting their elders."

The king smiled, "they'll be at your doorstep tomorrow morning at dawn." The general nodded and walked away. The king turned to find both boys sitting side by side against the marble wall awaiting their punishment.

The king swaggered toward them grinning broadly. "I suggest you two go pack," he said gleefully. "You two are headed for boot camp tomorrow morning." Surprise flickered across Devin's face which quickly turned to horror, but Damian's face stayed blank and uncaring. That boy was unnerving to say the least the king thought to himself before striding away down the hall.

Devin walked slowly up the stairs while Damian slowly matched his pace feeling helpless. There was a small blood trail following Devin as moved painfully down the hall. Damian couldn't take it anymore. "What kind of deranged king beats his only heir?"

Devin chuckled softly, "I can name two."

Damian shook his head in frustration. "Anyway, what's boot camp?"

Devin shuttered, "That is where you train before you can enter the army. General Sanders is cruel to those who can't take care of themselves so if you learn how to defend yourself you can enter the army if not your stuck in boot camp for fifteen years. If you still haven't passed by then you get sent home."

Damian nodded in understandingly. The two trudged along the halls in silence Damian in deep thought. Devin obviously didn't like the idea of boot camp but Damian disagreed it could be fun. Damian turned to Devin. "May be boot camp won't be so bad."

Devin eyes widened and he gently patted his friend on the back. "Not a chance in hell."

Damian couldn't stop the grin slowly creeping across his face. "Well then, we'll make it, let's see General Sanders try and stop us."

Devin chuckled, "You got an idea?"

Damian turned to him, "Of course I do, now let's go pack cause were going to need few extra things."

Damian and Devin lugged their stuff down the hall to the front and sat there waiting for the king to show up. They kept their voices low and perfected the pranks they had come up with last night.

Austyn sat starring at the elaborate artwork on the dining room floor at the palace. Samantha sat beside her just as silently knowing there was nothing she could tell her friend that would make anything better.

The parents sat talking in hushed tones as they picked at their food. Only Fang made any noise, he sat by Austyn nudging her hand and whining. He had done this once before when Mark had gone missing exactly two years ago right after her eleventh birthday.

There were search parties everywhere but no sign of Mark. He had just disappeared. Austyn quietly snuck out of the house during the afternoon chaos and started wandering aimlessly down the street. She didn't notice the man silently following her as she wandered mindlessly down an alley towards the Southside spinning a ruby ring on her finger around and around.

If she had been in her right mind she would have realized where she was headed but it didn't even occurred to her where she was going. The Southside was the term used to describe the poor side of town. It was full of drunks, gangs, and drugs. In Sanria, Sandaria's capitol, the Southside was actually on the west side of the city across form the castle which was built against a large cliff. The gate into Sanria was located on the West side of the city.

Austyn kicked a rock into the nearest drabby wall, it rebounded with a soft crack that was echoed but a loud clang that came from somewhere left of her. She jumped with a start and then her curiosity got the better of her. Austyn hesitated less than a moment before heading off in the direction of the clang. She meandered her way through three alleys before she heard loud shouting in the direction the clang had come from. So she, she followed the noise.

She followed the noise until she ran into a dead end with the shouting on the other side. Austyn walked up and jumped up her fingers catching the edge. She pulled herself up until she was balancing on the edge of the wall barely able to see over.

There were ten people on the other side of the wall. Five were leaning languidly against the wall to her right and the other five were in the middle of the alley glaring at them. They were obviously gangs. The gang leaning against the wall was obviously the Scorpion gang because they each had a black scorpion tattooed on their left upper arm, but the gang on the right was turned away so she had no idea who they were. From the sounds of it the unknown gang was upset about a scorpion member crossing into their territory.

"He had no right," the leader snapped. He stood in front of the group with black hair and yellow eyes that made Austyn shudder.

One of the Scorpion members laughed and pushed himself off the wall, Austyn assumed he was the Scorpion leader. He stood in front of his gang proudly, his dirty brown hair waving in the slight wind and his brown eyes staring so calmly at the unknown's gang leader it was almost scary . "He wanted a drink at a pub, what's the big deal. The one in your territory was closet its not like he started a revolt."

The unknown's leader spit at the Scorpion's feet. "He was in my territory. He had no business there."

The bickering went on but Austyn's attention was turned else where. Something in the shadows across from her in another alley moved. It hid in the shadows and waited for a couple seconds to make sure it hadn't been seen before moving again. It was a boy no more than two or three years older than Austyn making his way quietly towards the two gangs.

He reached the end of the alley and silently watched the interaction between the two gangs. Austyn turned her attention back to the two gang leaders who were glaring daggers at each other. Austyn watched in shock as the unknown gang leader pulled out a small dagger and brought it up to throw at a gang member behind the scorpion leader. In retaliation, the scorpion leader pulled out a nasty looking knife and lunged forward at the leader across from him. The boy suddenly jumped into action flinging himself in between the two.

The knife slid into the boy's stomach with ease and he let out a cry of pain. Austyn opened her mouth to scream but a hand covered it and pulled her back into the alley away from the gangs. She spun around raising her fists to fight her attacker to find Mark standing in front of her grinning like a maniac.

Mark had quickly dragged her out of the South Side area and back home. But the image of the kid being stabbed stuck with her. Austyn had wondered if she would ever know if he had lived her not. She found out exactly three weeks later.

Austyn walked into the city square and wondered down to a small little shop that sold produce. She walked inside and smile sweetly at the shopkeeper. She meandered around until she had found everything she was suppose to get and paid. When she walked out the door a someone grabbed her arm and spun her around. Austyn found herself facing a boy about her height with black hair and deep blue eyes which were staring at her with amusing.

She frown, "May I help you?"

He smirked, "You don't recognize me do you?"

Austyn shook her head.

He laughed this time. "You don't realize you lost it either I suppose."

Austyn gave him a strange look. "Lost what?"

He held up a small ruby ring. The one Austyn had been wearing when she was roaming around the South Side.

Suddenly everything clicked. "You're the boy who got stabbed!"

He nodded and handed her the ring.

Austyn took it from him and motioned for him to walk with her. He hesitated before complying and together they stepped into the crowd.

Austyn raised her voice slightly so she could be heard above the noisy crowd. "Who healed you?"

The boy shrugged, "My sister."

"What's your name?"

The boy stopped and studied her for a second. "I'm Seth."

"Austyn pleasure to meet you," she replied instantly.

Then the two continued on. Austyn frowned. "I didn't realize anybody else other than me and Dr. Plite had moon magic."

Seth looked at her in confusion.

Austyn explained. "The only way to heal wounds is with moon magic."

Seth shrugged, "I don't know the correct terms for magic but she can heal any flesh wound."

Seth stopped and turned away. "Have a good evening Austyn," he murmured before disappearing back into the crowd. Austyn hadn't realized they were almost at her house she waved goodbye at his retreating form. Out of nowhere Mark materialized and fell into step with her.

He didn't say anything for a second then he turned to her. "Don't ever talk to him again Austyn he's bad news. I forbid it." Then without another word he stalked off. Austyn stood stunned in the middle of the street staring after him, he had never ordered her to do anything before.

Ta da. I'm very sorry it took so long to get this written but several things changed and I had to fix things in the earlier chapters.

tickle-me-pretty15- Well, I finally got the third chapter written! I hope it was ok!

estoOh- Thanx- It is sad, that kid goes through a lot! (

Alexander Stiov- You should show me the parts where you had to re read. I might be able to phrase the sentence better, it also might just be grammar problems I haven't fixed them all yet. I'm glad you like it, and we'll see how you like this chapter.

Islandbreeze- FP keeps screwing it up because I keep trying to put in between POV's but the site won't let me and I think that makes the story a lot harder to read! I'm glad you liked the random naming of Damian, I wasn't sure how that was going to go across. Thanx!
