Arial lay in bed thinking of fate. Was Jeffrey and her meant to be together or not? She was stuck in a dilemma. If that was so then she had better make a move before it was too late.

They had a fight recently and she said many things she had wished she had not.

Damn it, she thought. I'll have to apologize, he didn't deserve half of it. Grabbing the night robe from the stand she hurried out of the house. The night was chilly and she shivered under the thin layer of silk. Still his house was only a block or so away.

Upon reaching the doorstep, she stood her hand positioned to knock but her courage failed her and she turned away. Then she stopped and turned around again and decided it was a -now or never situation.

After her third knock, he had still not answered. Come on, Jeffrey. She pleaded silently. Open up the door.
"Jeffrey!" she called up. Only silence answered. "Fine," she huffed. "Remember, you forced me to do this."

She dug in her bag for the keys to his house, fitted the keys into the keyhole and opened the door. The house seemed quiet, too quiet for her liking. The light under his bedroom door was off. Which was unusual, as he was a late night sleeper.

Arial crept up the stairs and gave the door a soft knock and waited for a while. No answer. She twisted the doorknob and it slipped open quietly. Flipping on the light switch she looked at the bed.

"No, no! This can't be happening. Oh boy. Shit, shit. Something's wrong. There must be a mistake," She cried hysterically.

Fate was not to be.
