Not his Princess
Prologue
Maybe it really wasn't my destiny to be his; maybe it was fate that he noticed my best friend even when she did absolutely nothing at all. Either that or maybe he was playing with my feelings all along; after all, he has been messing with me since the days we were in diapers.
No matter what the reason was, my heart has been broken and I was humiliated beyond belief.
"I told you to give up on him, how stubborn are you anyways, Lyn?"
"Just leave me alone Chris, I don't need your insult at the moment." Christopher Frost, is his best friend, and has known each other for our either life.
"No! I'm not just going to stand by and watch this time around! Just because Dan found someone that he can be happy with, that doesn't mean that you can't either! For just one minute Lyn, I wish you'd open your eyes and see what's in front of you instead of chasing something that can never be a reality!"
To the beginning…
"Lyn, it's your turn." My name is Ashlyn Spencer, or other wise known as Lyn to those around me. I'm currently 17 and am in the last year of my high school career.
"Uh, I prefer not, Mr. Hall." Mr. Hall is one of the well-liked gym teachers and also the coach of the track team at my school, not only that, he is also my brother-in-law. Narrowing his eyes at me, he pointed towards the track, indicating that he was not taking a no for an answer no matter what.
"C'mon Lyn, it's not that bad, you can finish the 100 meter sprint in no time." That folks was my best friend Kimberly Anne Jones, who also happens to be the captain of the track team.
She's what I'd like to call the image of perfection, what with her beautiful auburn hair and the pair of hazel eyes that had all the guys going crazy for her. She was not the typical beautiful girl with no brain, in fact she also happens to be president of our National Honor Society, which really speaks a lot.
"I'm giving you 15 seconds, which is more then enough for you to finish 100 meters, or else you're running 5 miles. Now go!" Often times, I really don't understand why I even bother to argue with them. They're the tag team in school and out of school when it comes down to torturing me.
As I ran for my life, I couldn't help but notice how all the other track team members were just lounging around and laughing at me. Why you may ask, well that's simple, just as I was half way through with the 100 meter, I tripped on something, causing me to fall flat upon my face, which I might add is not very graceful at all.
Normally I wouldn't be pissed off if I trip due to my clumsiness, however, this wasn't due to my clumsiness, and it was rather caused by my pain in the butt of a neighbor, Christopher Frost. By now, people were standing around laughing their butts off at me, which also includes, Kimberly and Mr. Hall.
Can my day possibly end any worse?
That was a rhetorical question by the way, of course my day could get worse, especially if my crush happens to see what had happen and was also laughing his ass off at me. What a nice day this has been…
