"Wake Up," the soothing voice called to me. "Wake up," the voice said again. I felt a cold hand touch my shoulder. "WAKE UP you lazy ass!" the now not-so-sweet voice yelled into my ear. I abruptly sat up, smashing my head into something hard. A loud thud was heard against the hard floor as I opened my eyes to see Ashley sitting on the floor rubbing her head. "You know this is gonna hurt like hell later and I'm gonna blame you for it," she said as she rose to her feet.

"I was on the other end of the smash." I said as I started to rub my head. Glancing around the room, I noticed everyone else was gone. "Hey, where'd everyone go?" I asked.

"They all left along time ago." Ashley said, pointing a finger at the clock. The time read 2:30 in the afternoon. "Aww, shit. Why didn't you wake me up?" I asked her.

"Well I tried like five times but you wouldn't get up. Eventually I just gave up, figured you had to get up some time." She walked over to the door then turned to me, "You should pack your stuff, your parents probably think I ate you." and then she left.

The car slowly sputtered to a stop in front of an old brick and I slid out. The peddle hit the gas and speed away. "Bye Ashley," I yelled, "I'll see you on Monday." A hand responded to my call, sticking out the open back window and waved rapidly.

I ran up to the front door and ran in. "I'm home!" I yelled as I leaped up the stairs and into my room.

"Zach, Baby." I yelled as I jumped onto my bed. A big, sloppy tongue smacked me in the face as my big dog greeted me. "Did ya miss your mama?" A massive bark answered my question.

I rolled onto my back and laid down next to the dog on my bead. Staring up at the ceiling, I thought about the events of last night. "God, that was the weirdest sleepover ever." I said. I undid the covers and got under, falling into a deep sleep.

Monday morning I got off the bus. I yawned and looked onto the schoolyard. There, standing by the big oak stood Ashley and my friend Cassie. They waved me over.

"Hey you guys." I said with a yawn. "Gosh Ash I've been so tired ever since your party. Did ya put sleeping pills in the food?"

"No. You're just kinda weird." Ashley said with a shrug. "O who cares about how tired you are. The most important thing is that sweet looking new kid over there." Cassie said, nodding her head over by the far wall. Standing by a bench was a tall boy with long blond hair that was just long enough to cover his eyes. "He is so cute and he has been checking you out ever since you got off the bus."

I turned to take a closer look and sure enough, he was staring at me. "That's a little to weird for me." I said, yawning between every other word.

"Well go over and say hi for me." Cassie said, shoving me into his direction. I turned to her. She was waving me onwards with her hands. Slowly, I made my way over to him.

"Hi, I'm Sarah and my friend Cassie wanted me to say 'hi' to you for her." I said to him. My sentence was followed by a loud yawn.

"You're tired, no surprise. After your late night run threw the woods with your inexperience, it's believable."

My eyes widened in shock. "Wh-what? How did you know that.?" I stammered.

"Did Naboora not tell you of my arrival? I am Aurick, top guard of the late King, your father, and now your teacher and loyal knight," he said with a bow.
