Those innocents days we spent side by side

Playing with our dolls

Hair in bows, dressed in pink

How sheltered and naïve

We were

Now we're in an expanding world

It's always been this big

But our eyes have not

Cling to our days of carefree play

Cling to each other

Now we're stuck with a dirty world

Although it appears nice enough

Sex and drugs and traitors

Two-faced words

Is there anyone to trust?

A few, a dwindling few

I can trust you

But what if you join their ranks?

Leave me to huddle with my morals

And my memories

What if you just leave me altogether?

What would happen then?

I don't think I have to worry though.

I just don't want to be left
