Do you remember
The last time we relished the sight of a falling leaf?
Or the last time we woke up not dreading the dawn?
Or the last time we could truly say we were happy?
Do you remember God?
Do you remember when the world was beautiful?
Because I certainly don't
And truly, the River isn't the same without you
You who could just stand up and take us all in
We were one
But not in The Hole
We were our own self, just us and the world
You brought us peace
You gave your last breath to our peace
And we will be forever grateful
We miss you, you know
We think of you often
Longing blood poured onto sun-warmed bricks
A heartless entity
We cried for you
You are dearly missed
A moment of Silence
From the heart
Like you always wanted
