The Prayer

Sitting on the sunset,
Gazing into the bay
Thinking of a loved one
She began to pray:

God bless this man
I love so dear
Keep him near to me
Through every fear

Keep him with me
As life goes on
Keep him near me
And help us grow strong

The love we share
Ascends to the stars
Never ending
Is this love of ours

The girl opened her eyes
And gazed to the sky
She saw the clouds part
And God's watchful eye

She knew right then
It was meant to be
God was watching over them
This she could see

She stood up from her place
Where the setting sun shone
She took her lovers hand
And walked off toward home
