Chapter Three

"Yea?" Jessie asked gruffly into the phone, his eyes still closed, head snuggling further into his pillow.

He didn't know nor care what time it was. He had worked until eleven last night only to go with Kane, a fellow tattoo artist, to some party in the 'burbs. The party was 'bumping' and he had gotten so fucking drunk he couldn't see straight. And God damn did it feel good! Well, at the time at least. He was sure when he was actually awake enough to be aware he would either have a make out session with the toilet bowl or a terrible hangover. Either way, he had fun while it lasted and today was his day off so it wasn't like he couldn't just sleep it off.

"Jessie?"

He cracked an eyes open at that, smiling gently as he heard Lakken's soft voice come through the phone. "Hey, baby," he said, sitting up a bit in his bed.

"Hey, I -uhm - just wanted to make sure you still wanted to go to opening with me today," Lakken bit his lip nervously.

Jessie had actually sounded like he had been asleep. He hadn't meant to bother him if that was the case, but the show started in less than an hour and a half. And he just couldn't be late. This was Preston Bedfield's first showing in the city! The guy was an excellent photographer, Lakken had seen some of his work on the Net and around a few galleries, and he just loved to see others' work.

The darker man groaned to himself, already rising from the bed. Looking at the clock his eyes widened- he had slept the whole damn day away! He felt like a total asshole. He had known he had promised his little blond he would go with him and he still went out and partied. Now he had to rush like hell getting showered, dressed and over to Lakken's house before actually going to the showing.

"Yea, I said I would."

"I know, it's just that Ronnie said he saw you at some party last night and I wasn't sure you were feeling up to it," he tried to keep his wariness from his tone.

Jessie was a gorgeous guy and he hated to think that anyone else would tempt him, plus he had been drunk so ... The possibilities were endless.

"Lakken," the tattooist said, grinning a bit at the boy's obvious thoughts as he went through his closet to find something halfway suitable to wear.

He and the younger boy had been dating for going on a month now and he himself was thoroughly enamored. He saw the kid and he got butterflies in his stomach. He smiled and he wanted to jump him, spread his legs and -

"Yea, I got drunk - shit-faced actually, but I promise you the only one on my mind was you. Don't be jealous, baby."

Anyway, it wasn't like he could have cheated even if he wanted to, which he didn't. The blond was always on his mind. Finding an outfit he threw it on the bed before heading to the bathroom. He paused a moment at the doorway, raising a brow thoughtfully, he hadn't seen Ronnie - or if he had he didn't remember it.

The blond blushed, chewing on his lower lip a bit. "Okay..."

"I'll be there soon - is Ronnie and..." He paused, what was her name? "Uhm, the chick -"

"Reena."

"Yes, her. Are they riding with us too or...?"

"Reena is, Ronnie had to work."

"Alright then, baby, I'll be there in a few minutes," he said, awaiting the boy's 'goodbye' before hanging up. Ridding himself of his boxers- 00 - he jumped in the shower. Turning on the water he cursed himself for not waiting for it to heat up.

Lakken smiled over at his boyfriend, his heart in his eyes. After hearing that Jessie had been partying until the wee hours of the morning, he was sure the man would call and cancel their date or simply miss it. But he hadn't. He had arrived at the boy's house with damp hair and a somewhat ruffled appearance, but he hadn't missed it. And by some miracle they had actually made it on time.

The pictures had been gorgeous, taken at just the right angle, the lighting superb. Lakken had given his opinions on quite a few of them to Jessie and anyone else who was about to listen. Had actually debated with a fellow over one picture in particular, arguing over the shadowing principles of a black and white portrait. He didn't know if he had 'won' or not, but he knew he had gotten his point across and that was all that mattered to him.

The photographer had actually been there, which was to be expected as it was, after all, an opening. But it still amazed him to meet such a talented man in person when only a few weeks ago he was looking him up on the internet. The guy had been well dressed, kind and courteous, if a bit forward in his compliments to Lakken, after which case Jessie had hastily put and arm about his shoulders and pressed a soft kiss to his lips.

Lakken had been first shocked and then dazzled. His cheeks were actually starting to hurt from the smile that had yet to leave his face. It felt wonderful to have someone feel jealous over him, to hold and protect him. Apparently Preston Bedfield had thought so too, the he had given them both a soft smile before continuing on with other conversation.

All in all the experience had been lovely and it was at times like this he wished so hard he could actually go to college for what he loved. But he knew he couldn't stand another 'go 'round' with his father over the matter. It would just end up the same - him going home crying over another derogatory remark his father would no doubt say towards his sexuality.

"Do you guys want to stop for dinner?" Jessie asked, looking first at Lakken then in the rearview mirror at Reena.

His mind was still on that photographer guy, or more to the point, how mad he had been when the man had actually asked his boyfriend out. He had been thoroughly pissed, wanting to punch the fancy prick right in his arrogant face. It didn't help that he had been scared out of his mind that Lakken would say yes.

After all, the guy was famous and he was what? A queer tattoo artist. Not that he was ashamed of what he did ... not hardly. It was just that the blond looked like the kind to be interested in the more intellectual types. And the guy just had to be a damn photographer, giving him and Lakken something more in common.

He didn't even know why he was so jealous. He and the blond hadn't even done anything. Well, at least not anything sexual. Sure, they had made out, even felt one another up a bit. But this relationship was going on a month and ... well, they were getting blue. He was the type of guy that normally went for the more flighty sort who put out on day one and left come day two. Not that he wanted to go back to that. Hell no, not after having a taste of Lakken.

Though through it all he had come up with a conclusion as to why Lakken was so wary. Given his age, inexperience and insecurities - which he had no right having! The kid was a wet dream - there was only one other thing he could be. A virgin. Jessie got all giddy when he thought about it. He loved the thought of having Lakken first and, hopefully, last. He liked to fancy the boy had saved it just for him - that is if he ever gave it up. But time would tell and at the moment - if he kept stocked with lube and porn - he had all the time in the world.

"I have an idea."

"Oh?" Lakken and Reena said simultaniously, both heads raising to look at a pondering Jessie.

Jessie laughed a bit at the two, white teeth flashing in a grin a moment before settling his eyes on Lakken.

"How would you like to take some professional photos of some of the tats we've done? Maybe even some of our own. I mean, most of ours we have had done by one another so..." He set the idea out there. The shop, though looking like your typical tattoo parlor, really had no style to speak of. If Lakken would take the time out to do it, he knew it would look lovely.

Lakken paused a moment, "You're serious? You want me to do that for you guys?"

"Yes. I've talked to the guys about it and we have it all mapped out. I mean, we'll pay you and everything ... We just thought -"

"Of course I'll do it for you guys!" Lakken smiled brightly, hugging Jessie's arm to his chest.

"Great. We have some guys in mind for you to photograph. And you can even take a few of my own..." He trailed off smiling as he looked down at his hot little boyfriend leaning against him with that innocent little puppy dog look on his face. He didn't know whether to laugh or kiss him senseless. He opted for the latter. Bending his head, down he kissed the smile from the boy's mouth.

jma: Well, there is Chapter Three. I'm not sure I'm diggin' it.

Lakken: Me either! Did you see how many of your mental reviewers has the hots for my boyfriend?

Jessie: -walks in, wrapping his arms about his boyfriend- Did they dig the chapter? -eyes reviewers, obliviousness in his mere expression-

Lakken: Don't know, they haven't reviewed yet.

Jessie: Well why not?

Lakken: Because they are still reading this. Our conversation.

Jessie: -blinks- Oh. Review dudes!

jma: -sighs forlornly- Can ya dig it? Review and let me know!
