What you see is a façade
It's not real
The real me is inside
Chained along with my black wings
My freedom
Torture
The only way to describe my inner agony
If I smile
What you see is happiness
What I feel is anger
If I ask what's wrong
You think I'm concerned about you
I'm just really saying go away
Go tell you problems to another shallow soul
One that doesn't know this pain
You hear me laugh
You think you hear joy
But underneath it all I'm screaming
Screaming where no one can hear
When you hear a joke from me
You think you hear comedy
I hear annoyance and bitterness
What can't be seen
Is hidden away inside
In the dark corner that everyone's afraid to touch
When you hear everyday noises
You hear the noises of life
I hear the noises of decay and screaming shallow souls
It seems that I'm content at first glance
Why not glance again?
Why no stare?
Look really good at what you think you see, feel or hear
You might just find that what you though of me
Is far from correct
Because what you don't see
Is my suffering
Underneath it all.
