My soul melts
within blurred and smudged lines
streaking across this blinding blank page
blending into endless scratchings
devolved into senseless heaps of words,
words that don't know my name,
Nor do they know they are my creation,
my dream and my nightmare.
And then my body leaves me:
my heart is gone;
my brain has departed;
my lungs have disappeared as well.
And in their place,
only words remain,
these ever-changing words.
I crumple the page.
