Author's Note: This is not actually a poem, per se, but a song I wrote tonight. I liked the flow of it, so I'm putting it here.
She's broken but beautiful,
a girl incomplete
who does not see her worth in the least.
Her eyes hold a sorrow
that mourns for tomorrow
and she'll cry again tonight.
…
How can I help this girl
with all of her problems?
How can I show her I care?
When will she realize
she means more in my eyes
than all of the gold in the world?
…
She hides behind anger
and hostile glances.
She endeavors to keep people out.
But behind the aggression
you'll find a depression
that's deeper than you'd ever know.
…
Time goes by
and I watch her cry.
Night after night after night…
