Tears raced down her pale cheeks as she walked silently through the school. She wrapped her arms around herself and closed her eyes. She tried to so hard to hold it back, to keep it in. She didn't want them to see her crying, she didn't want to give him the satisfaction of her tears. She tried to hold it back so hard her body was shaking as she let her head fall down to her chest.
People walking passed her were pointing and whispering, some laughing. She could hear their whispers as she could hear her heartbeat. They constantly burdened her with their hate. Couldn't they just leave her alone, for just one day? A minute? Their laughter echoed through her ears, putting a permanent imprint on her mind and her heart.
She still walked silently through the corridor of the school, her black hair falling into her face. She sighed and blinked her eyes, letting a tear fall from her eyelash.
"Ughn…!" She growled as she bumped into someone, her books slapping to the ground as she fell to her bottom.
"Watch where you're going, bitch!" Another girl's voice yelled.
Raiya looked down, it was Anna. Anna hated her, but Raiya really never figured out why. She pushed herself to her knees and started to gather her books, putting the papers back inside never saying a word.
Anna's posse started to crowd her as she pulled herself up from the ground and tried to walk away. Anna pushed her back, seeing the fear in her eyes. It was almost like she could smell it. "Say you're sorry, slut! Say you're sorry!" They all started to chant, pushing her again to the ground.
Derrick smiled to a few of his friends, waving slightly. He held his books in his left hand as he continued down the hallway, dodging through the stampede of kids trying to get to their classes. He turned, hearing some books flop to the ground. His eyes narrowed, seeing Anna and her friends crowd around a girl. He sighed and walked closer, seeing them push her to the ground again.
He had to step in. "Hey!" He yelled, stepping in between two of the girls and in front of the one on the floor. "Leave her alone…" He said, glaring into Anna's eyes.
Anna glared back and chuckled, looking to the crowd around her. "Fine." She said, plainly. She put her arms around her books and smiled to Derrick. She walked passed him, stepping on a few of Raiya's books and papers. "Well, see you later bitch." She threatened, walking passed her.
Raiya sighed, wiping the tears from her cheeks with her shaking fingers. She picked up her things and shoved them into her book bag quickly before pushing herself up and looking to Derrick, her head still down. "Thank you…" She whispered, before scurrying off into the girls' bathroom.
She slammed the stall door behind her and dropped the books at her feet. She threw herself down on the toilet seat as the tears started to fall again. Why did they do this to her? Was she so ugly that they could not bare to look at her? Did she not deserve to be on this Earth? She cried harder, knowing the answer to that question.
Everyone hated her, even her family. She had no friends, she had no one to love her. Her mother had left her a long time ago, when she was just a child… When she was still somewhat innocent. And her father, well her father… He was a drunk. A violent drunk at that.
Her long sleeves covered not only cuts across her skin, but the handprints, the bruises, the markings that he gave her. She winced, her fingers going over the cigarette burn.
The tears went slower and slower as her fingers danced over the cuts across her wrists. She wished she could dig deeper and deeper, letting her blood just drip from her, never ending; letting her die in a puddle of her own blood. It didn't sound all that bad about now…
She jumped when the school bell rang. She was late for class, again. She sighed, wiping the tears from her flustered cheeks and pulled her books up, holding them tightly to her chest. She pushed the stall door open and went over to the sinks. She set her books down on the white porcelain and looked into her own eyes. "Why do they hate me?" She asked herself. She bent down and splashed some cold water on her face and gulped, grabbing her books and walking from the bathroom to her class.
Some of Anna's friends were in her class and she hated it. They constantly bugged her, not letting her have a moment's peace. She took a deep breath and put her hand on the knob, turning it slowly. She could hear that Mr. Anderson had already started teaching. She stepped inside of the classroom and closed the door behind her. She looked to Mr. Anderson, he stopped talking and his eyes pierced her skin like razors.
"I'm sorry I am late, Mr. Anderson." She said, quickly walking to her seat, her head still down.
Mr. Anderson said nothing, he just watched her go to her seat and sit down. He frowned and rolled his eyes, pushing himself up from his desk. "Alright, class. Get out your journals," he sighed. "Right what you want in life. Where you want to be in 5 or 10 years." The students of the class moaned. "Aw, come on! It's not that bad!" Mr. Anderson laughed, sitting himself down in his chair and starting on his paperwork.
Raiya sighed as she started to get out her journal from her over-packed book bag. She grabbed a pencil and opened the journal. What I want in life? Where I want to be in 5 to 10 years? She asked herself.
She wrote down the questions and closed her eyes, gripping her fingers around the yellow wooden pencil. She looked up to Mr. Anderson and flinched, feeling something hit her back. She closed her eyes, forcing the tears back that threatened to fall once again.
"What I want in life?" She wrote. "I want it to end." She wrote, plainly and then went on to the next question. "Where do you want to be in 5 to 10 years?" She paused, looking at the question with wide eyes. "In my Grave."
