Prologue part 1- The Beginning.

A baby's cry could be heard from the Queen's room in the castle. Though it was a girl, the king and queen of Nepharia has much to rejoice for as they looked at their second daughter in the arms of the tired queen. The princess was their result after continuous failures for more than 5 years.

A day after the baby was born, the newly-born princess started to cry. Her parents thought that it was a normal thing for a baby to cry but when the baby continued to cry till two days after they became rather worried and soon a decree was given out that whoever manages to stop the unfortunate princess from crying will be given half the kingdom of Nepharia.

Many people eager to get rich tried many ways to silent the princess but all attempts were in vain. The baby continued to cry and her unhappy parents increased the worth of the reward but soon nobody wanted to try.

One day about two weeks later, a stranger wearing a dark cloak wandered to the entrance of the castle. The stranger was tired after his long journey from his country and wearily requested to see the king. Seeing what a dirty fellow the stranger was, the guards, who were drunk, threw him out, laughing, as they kicked him over and over again.

Suddenly a loud voice shouted at the guards to stop. It was the king who was away trying to find ways to stop the princess and saw the guards kicking the stranger. The frightened guards said it was the stranger's fault and said he wanted to see the great and ominous king but they were afraid that it could be a ploy to kill their majesty as he didn't seem to be from the kingdom. The king knew that they were lying when he smelt the strong whiff of liquor on their uniforms and fired them on the spot (Can the king do that in that time?).

The grateful stranger thanked the king and told him that he would like to try to stop the princess from crying. The king felt skeptical as he had tried many ways and all of them failed but this stranger said he could do it? (A/N- the stranger didn't said that but that was what the king thought in his heart-obviously jealous and not too sure whether a stranger from another kingdom would not kill the baby) By then the stranger was already placing something in the cradle of the princess. Suddenly the whole castle was silent as the baby's cries died down to soft cooing. The king was shocked and rushed to his princess to see what the stranger placed inside the cradle. It was a golden ball. The dumbfounded king picked the ball up and was amazed to feel how light it was but hurriedly put back the ball when the baby showed signs of wailing.

The king, delighted, called for his wife and told the stranger that he would give him whatever his decree said he would. The stranger however politely refused and only asked for one thing … that the princess marries his son when she is old enough. The king was dubious as the man was a total stranger but the king was an honorable person and promised to give his daughter's hand in marriage when she reaches the age of 17.

(A/N- This is my first original story on Fiction Press! (Loud applause) It is shoujo and Dark fantasy as well as humor (not in the prologue) in it. Yes, the whole thing was pretty obvious but this is just the prologue just to tell what happens. Obviously you readers will be the ones knowing what happened in the beginning and the unsuspecting princess to find that out! The next part is much nicer and less predictable. I just drew the first page (manga style) and the characters. It is suppose to be in a Clamp-ish style (CLAMP- the artists for Card captor Sakura and Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle as well as Chobits))
