My eyes are strained.
Looking back upon
The beauty of your love
Like a flower unfolding,
Evolving into greatness.
And I was afraid
Like one whom fears change,
Of your open arms
Which took me wholly.
Regret is a feeling that kills,
Like a knife that stabs through your heart,
That I did not open myself wider,
To your loving embrace.
Now I cry out,
As I wander alone in the night,
Like someone who's lost purpose
Waiting for the hope of faith to return.
For God tries us all,
We all are like Job sometime,
Yet the strength you've given me through faith,
Makes me travel on through the night.
