Hello, minna-san! I am Luna, and this is my first story on fictionpress!
Please review! Thanks a bunch!
I, Lunetta Galemore, walked inside the small town of Thais. Quiet birds sang, and the noises of people buzzed. The smell of the wet dust lingered in the air; It had been raining.
I was considered pretty by most, but I didn't think much of it. I was about 5'7, with black hair and blue highlights, and fairskin, grey eyes, rosy lips, and a button nose.
I sighed. Another boring day at the shop. I worked at a bar, the Final Destination. The scent of liquor burned my nose, and the cold colors were unwelcoming.
Suddenly, I tripped into a puddle of dark, dirty water. Cursing to myself, I started to get up, when a strong, muscular arm reached out to me.
"Do you need help?" A deep, carressing voice said.
"Thank you," I managed, as the man helped me up. I looked up at the man.
He was tall, about 6'4, and he had dark chocolate hair, which was messy. He was wearing baggy black pants, a baggy black shirt, and back skate shoes. He had a very handsome face, which was completed when he smiled.
"I'm Ryan. What's your name? I don't believe I've seen you around town before," The young man, Ryan, said.
"I-I'm Luna," I said. "And I've been here all my life.."
"Oh, really? I'm sorry.." He said.
"That's alright," I said. "That happens alot.."
"Well, how could I make it up to you? How about I take you out to that bar?" He asked, a hint of hope touching his voice.
"I don't drink," I said.
"That's fine; neither do I. I've heard it's a really nice place, Final Destination, I think it's called." He said.
"I...I own Final Destination." I said quietly.
"Oh, really? That's awesome! I'll be sure to come by alot. Must get lonely," Said Ryan.
"You have no idea..." I muttered.
"Well, don't worry. I'll make sure to come by alot!" Ryan said. He looked at his wristwatch. "But right now, I gotta go. Ja!"
"Ja.." I said, waving at him.
Maybe today won't be so bad after all..
I sighed, as I was walking. The walk took so long!
But then, I noticed some girl, a skank by the look of it, giving me a disgusted look.
"Hai?" I asked.
"Nothing, skank." She said snottily.
"Excuse me? What did you call me?" I asked, in a threatening voice.
The girl squealed. "Matt! Matt, help, some girl's threatening me!" She yelled at the top of her lungs. The sound made me cringe.
Then, out of the shadows, came a dark figure, known as Matt.
"Hey, Matt! Um, skank, I don't think my own brother will hurt me over some slut." I said.
"Luna? Damn, what's up with your clothes?" He said, nodding at my attire, which consisted of a turtleneck shirt, jeans, kneehigh socks, gloves, a necklace, an axe, and leather kneehigh boots, all of it black.
"This is what I usually wear. Duh. Or were you too busy here with this skank to notice?" I asked snottily.
He, I just now noticed, had wrapped his arm around her.
I walked over to the skank and slapped her. I gave her a glare that said "Stay away from my brother."
"What was that for, BITCH?!" Yelled the skank.
"Don't slap my girlfriend, Luna!" Matt yelled at me, his sister, with anger trembling in his voice.
I felt tears coming on, and I couldn't let everyone seeing me crying...I just couldn't bare that...
Getting up, I ran trembling down the streets, crystal tears threatening to trickle dowm, into an alley, I tripped over a rock, and fell to the ground with a thud, and started crying.
"Whats a girl like you doing in a place like this?" I heard a voice slur, a drunk probably.
"G-go away..." I said, getting up shakily. I drew my axe, and swung it, and the man, being a large one, couldn't duck in time. The axe hit his stomach, and gave him a large gash. With his final strength, he tried to swing at me, but I dodged it with great agility, and he fell to the floor.
"That'll teach ya, bastard." I said with a smug look, and tried to wipe the tears from my face.
I knelt down to the corpse and wiped my axe on his shirt, so no one noticed the blood that stained the usually clean steel.
I walked out of the alley, to hear three girls say "Hey, Luna!"
I sighed and went to greet my friends.
"Hey, Wolfie, Chris, Sasuni. What's up?" I asked them, my voice trembling.
"Not much..Hey, Luna, are you crying?" Chris, my best friend ever said.
This made me break out in tears all over again.
"Oh, it's horrible! Matt likes that stupid skank better than me!"
The three girls looked at eachother.
"I knew she would find out soon...Luna, her name is Brittany. She's the most popular girl in town...She's a model, and she got your brother to go out with her." Said Sasuni.
This news shocked me.
"Hey, Luna, I gotta go. I'm really sorry about Matt, but I promised mom I'd be home soon." Said Wolfie.
"Yeah, me too." Said Sasuni and Chris at the same time.
"Okay, bye guys." I said.
I sighed and walked back over to my bar. It wasn't far from here. Only about two miles away. Once I got there, I took the key out of my pocket. It was silver and had a skull on it. I inserted it into the key hole, turned, and opened the door. I took the key out of the keyhole and put it back into my pocket.
Walking in, I switched on the light, and went behind the counter. I put on a black apron, and started preparing some ice tea for myself.
"Ding ding!" Rang the bell as the door opened. Another day, another drunk, as I always said.
"I'll be with you in just a second!" I shouted. I went over the big stereo and put in Simple Plan: "Still Not Getting Any".
I put the track on one, and out came "Shut up". I walked behind the counter, and started cleaning the counter. Without looking up, I asked, "What can I getcha?"
"Just an ice tea." Said a familliar voice. I looked up at the person. I quickly recognized him as Ryan.
"Ryan! Hi! How are you?" I said.
"I'm good, you?" Ryan asked.
"Not so good..." I muttered.
"Aww, what's wrong?" Ryan asked, concern in his voice.
"Well, my brother... No, forget it. You don't wanna hear about my problems." I said, with a sad smile.
"'Course I do!" Ryan insisted.
"Well... Okay. You see, my brother has this girlfriend, and he likes her better than me, I think. But we used to be the best friends! Well, besides my other friends." I told him.
"What sucks... Did you talk to him about it?" Ryan asked.
"No... Do you think I should?" I asked him, wondering if that would be a good thing to do.
"Definately. I think it's probably a misunderstanding." He told me.
"I guess so.." I said.
Ryan and I drank out tea in silence. I got a lot of customers, all drunks, but the job payed good because I got all the money, owning the bar.
That night, after closing my shop, I heard a scream. I ran toward the scream, Ryan by my side, axe in my hand.
"HELP!" A voice screamed. I could recognize it now. It was Brittany, the Mat's slut.
A man was getting close to her, trying to rape her most likely. I quietly ran behind the man, and swung my axe at his skull. "That should teach ya," I said.
I cleaned my axe on his shirt, and left without a word to Brittany. Ryan then ran to catch up with me.
"Woah! You're good! I didn't know people use axes anymore. I though they all use guns," Ryan said.
"I'm the only one I know of," I told him.
Ryan suddenly said, "The Son of Fire calls to you. Protect me in the deeds I do. Appear!"
With that, an axe, one that looks like mine, appeared in his hands. It was exactly like mine, except for the fact that it was bigger.
I stood there looking at him, eyes wide.
"The Son of Fire needs you no more. Disappear!" Ryan yelled.
Ryan's axe was suddenly gone.
I smiled, and said, "The Daughter of the Flame needs you no more. Disappear!"
Once I said that, my axe disappeared.
"I thought I sensed something about you.." I told him.
"I sensed something about you too... Hey, wanna go do something tomorrow...? I dunno, maybe go to the movies and get something to eat?" Ryan asked nervously.
"That would be awesome." I told Ryan with a smiled.
"Well, I better be going now. It's getting late. Ja!" Ryan said. He then walked to the right, and headed to his house.
Maybe my life won't be so lonely anymore...
