Blood drips down
Staining black roses red
I can't say more
Than has already been said

Bright blood runs
Flowing over thorns
Now warm blood contrasts
To the fragile, frosty morn

Scars echo my pain
They show what I've done
Petals fall as acid rain
Roses shielding the sun

The thorn pricks my skin
Breaking beyond the pale
I'll try not to cry
But I'll miserably fail

I should not be here
I do not belong
No one will miss me
I should be long gone

The petals that stroke my cheeks
Are red as the blood on my skin
Red rose petals lay,
Camouflaged in sin

I owe this plant my life
It can now take the debt
My life's water runs to its feet
And I fall to eternal rest
