Wander through the open door

Or ponder when you wondered more

But travel far away from here

Where the water's ever clear

Vacant expanses of thought and mind

are lost between the hands of time

that move so fast you hardly see

them mesh with nature's symmetry

and though the streams through valleys flow

with ancient sand and melted snow

the water seems to be renewed

each time autumn is passing through

mountains seem to gather 'round

to watch it all as it's unwound

the mystery of life and love

the heart below, the head above

why we all strive for paperwings

and hell is suck an awful thing

why forests fall and buildings rise

to choke the ever giving skies

but still it seems that less is known

than when we left our dormant homes

where thought is just a state of mind

and not a journey of any kind

the footsteps are not always heard

and we never seem to find the words

but the beauty in the world you see

is life's infinite sublimity

Little more will we ever know

than what the stars and sea will show

but never fail to take the time

to walk the path of the waking mind
