Rainstorm
The leaves are beginning to fall
As I stare off into nothing at all
The sun is taking a day off today
Leaving me with nothing to say
The thunder it rumbles in the distance
And I decide to lay down my resistance
The wind blows hard
It kicks me down
And the back of my head scrapes the ground
It's raining
I'm screaming
I'm hearing far-off wailing
Let the rain fall in my eyes
As thunder takes me by surprise
It's raining
I'm failing once again
I'm crying and the tears
They fall into my ears
I'm lying on my back and I can't get up
I've fallen on the floor
I've shut and locked the door
And no one can save me till I've cried enough
The trees are beginning to sway
What happened to this beautiful day?
The flowers are wilting, dropping off their stems
All color is fading again
I look out at the darkness through my window
And realize that there's no place I can go
The glass it rattles as the lightning strikes
And the evening dies away into night
It's raining
I'm screaming
I'm hearing far-off wailing
Let the rain fall in my eyes
As thunder takes me by surprise
It's raining
I'm failing once again
I'm crying and the tears
They fall into my ears
I'm lying on my back and I can't get up
I've fallen on the floor
I've shut and locked the door
And no one can save me till I've cried enough
(Speaking:)
To everything there is a season
a time for every purpose under the heaven
a time to weep and a time to laugh
a time to mourn and a time to dance
and already the storm subsides
the clouds divide
the sun is rising
I'm crying but the tears
Are drying in my ears
You can save me now — I think I've cried enough
I get up off the floor
And go unlock the door
I'm as low as I can go ...
The only way from here is up
