Appreciative Offspring

I stopped to look at the sea

As the waves approached then flee

As the wind whipped at my face

And I walked in slow pace

The sand parts it's way

To let come what may

I thank the passages they give

Slip through the natural sieve

Seagulls soar in the sky above

Sharing in my deepest love

Of the roaring ocean deep

That can cradle one to sleep

I swam out to her and she accepted

The need for serenity I requested

The water void of heat

A chilling way to greet

The lids of my eyes fell

Into what some may call Hell

I was cradled and now I weep

The joy of the Ocean deep

I crawled back into the womb

Now to be my icy tomb

I shall never leave for another

For you, theocean, My Mother
