Rays of Perfection
Rays of light, the clear eyes that see my soul,
Glinting off willow tree leaves, a calm breeze.
Beneath your fiery demeanor, inner turmoil,
Simmering under the surface.
Let me love you.
Passions rise with the sun,
Inflamed with sweet longing.
Before we met my life was just a storm,
You lifted me above the clouds,
Higher than the stars.
Let me love you.
Now, you just a shadow of your former self.
My human arms can't reach around you,
Smothering, water douses the flames.
Suffocating on the sultry smoke,
Gone with the ashes of my life.
