Chapter 9

A/N: This is a really short chapter. If you thought that my other chapters were short, they're a novel compared to this one. Sorry, Lor Decris. The next one will be longer, hopefully. I promise that ch. 11 will be long. Another ch for Twin-Swords-Of-Fire. There you go.

Kheva was down below, doing who knows what. Lor was up in the rigging, having fashioned a hammock from the extra rope. The new girl was steering the ship. Dri was playing with the compass. Mace was playing with one of her swords.

It was three hours after the induction of the latest crewmember. Kheva had given her directions and left. Dri and Mace had decided to stay with their new friend.

"So…" Dri attempted to make conversation. "What's your name?"

"Anyssa," she said. "Nyss for short."

"So Nyss, what's your favorite color?"

"I don't care."

"Okay… favorite book?"

"I don't care."

"Favorite crewmate?"

"I don't care."

"Favorite painting?"

"Don't care."

"Opinion on the air speed velocity between European and African swallows?"

"Really don't care."

"Do you care about anything?" Mace chimed in.

"No, not really."

An awkward silence consumed the crewmates. Eventually, Mace went to join Lor in the rigging and Dri went below deck, most likely to clean something.

A/N: Personal thanks to reviewers! And check out Lor Decris's stories. One is the little prequel to Lor's chapter. It's really cool.

Twin-Swords-Of-Fire: Leave a real review for once, please!

Lor Decris: Okay, I talked to you at school, so yeah. UPDATE NOW! You rock with the web page saving thingy. I guess you can tell it worked!

India Blackwell: Thanks for reading. These characters are all based on real people. Four out of the five are actually on here.
