I sit here watching my shadow

lingering on the wall.

Trying not to hear its

mocking call.

Whispering my secrets

into the atmosphere.

Laughing at my dreams and

taunting at my deepest fear.

I try not to look at its

form so displeasingly,

and yet it still continues

to tease and laugh at me.

And then I suddenly remember

why its so afraid of me.

As I shut the light,

I hear its satisfying cries.

And I smile and let the

sweet sleep cover

my eyes.
