Death

She stared out of the window quietly, waiting. Her mournful eyes were resigned. Her lithe figure stood gracefully, exuding a wan frailty and her hand rested lightly on the balcony window. The loose white dress that she wore billowed out softly behind her, giving her the look of a fallen angel.

"Nozomi…" He breathed her name out softly, his voice barely audible. Nonetheless she heard him, turning her head slowly, forgetting about the view she'd just been absorbing.

"I didn't think you'd come." She walked to him slowly, almost as if floating. He breathed in the entirety of her, reveling in the intoxicating feeling he felt every time he saw her.

He reached forward, taking gentle hold on her slender hand.

"I have never ignored your call." He murmured softly. He watched as she closed her eyes when he kissed her cheek.

"Yes…but after some time you must tire of me…" She said in her soft voice, leaning her head against his shoulder. Her slender figure seemed to disappear inside his billowing black robes.

"Never." She looked up at him for a moment before looking away and once again he felt the intoxicating feeling.

She…she was too beautiful for this world…she didn't belong here…and yet here she was…

"Nozomi…" That's what she was…his wish…the only thing he had ever wanted for…the only thing he couldn't have…

"Gisei…" Her voice was a whisper, "Take me with you this time…"

His heart froze…

Take me with you…

His eyes met hers and suddenly he saw all the pain she'd hidden every time…the suffering…the scars and wounds…her want not her need…

"…I know you can…please…" He'd lived – or rather died – from the beginning of man. He'd seen man rise and fall and then rise again only to fall once more. He'd been present at the moment of her birth. At the moment of her parents birth. In so many life times he'd never felt for one among this race…not until her…

Her grip, at first so frail, tightened around him.

"Please…"

He buried his face in her neck, breathing her in, taking in her essence…

His wish…

"You can not come back…"

"Yes."

"Will you miss this life?"

"No."

"Will you mourn for it?"

"No."

"Will they mourn for you…?" A moment of silence…

"…I don't…I don't care…"

He laid her on the bed carefully. Her eyes were closed, her breath soft. He lay his hand over her heart, delving into her emotions, searching for the essence that allowed him passage into her physical being.

He felt her heart beat…willed it slow…willed it to stop…

She rose slowly…detaching herself from the physical plane.

"Gisei…" He took her hand…pulling him towards her…towards the window…his arms were around her…

"Nozomi…" His lips touched her skin softly…chilling it…making it into what he was…

"Takai…" He closed his eyes…to hear his name from her…his real name…

death…

Well…I guess like usual…I'd like you to review…
