Words of Desperation
I can't stand here
waiting for your glorious return,
stranded in a world of torment,
barren and alone.
The tide rushes wistfully
washing away the potent dreams,
lost aspirations in a land of gloom.
This plebeian shore
carries all your deceit
burying lies in the sands of time,
as do I, as days pass by.
Return to me, my dear Odysseus.
Time soars during your journey,
still I age quicker every night
in the presence of ungrateful vagrants.
I amuse myself with their antics,
competing each moment of the day,
begging for the affection entitled to you.
Return to me, by dear Odysseus.
time comes to a halt
as I plea for your safety.
