"Come on, Kris! You're missing out on all the fun!" Adrianne Charday, my best friend, urged me as she carelessly pushed a strand of her strawberry blonde tresses away from her face. Her blue eyes shone with amusement as she tugged at my arm once more, trying to get me into the waters of the clear ocean.
"Adrianne! I was trying to tan, you know!" I laughed as I let her have her way. I let out a small sigh as the cool water came in contact with my hot skin.
"See! It isn't so bad!" Marissa Bilson commented, flashing me a smile before adjusting the strap of her pink bikini. Just then, her gaze grew distant.
"Hello? Anyone in there?" I commented before snapping my fingers in front of my face. Did she pass out or something? Nah… not possible. She'd have collapsed. So what in the world is she looking at?
"Hottie alert." Okay, there's the answer to my question. I spun around to see two guys sitting on a towel beside our things, joking around as they arranged their own belongings. The first guy to get up had an AMAZING body. He had a six pack… no! Is that an 8 pack?! Is that even possible?
God… I must be drooling. His biceps and pecs were obviously well built, you know, unlike those scary bodybuilder types. Shudder… now that's just FAH-reaky. And those eyes! Sea green eyes that are absolutely to DIE for. They go well with his surfer tan and sun kissed locks. Snap out of it Kris. You are not falling for some surfer no-brainer.
I turned away from the sight in front of me and faced Marissa again. Her choco loco colored eyes were focused on me, once more, an amused smile on her face.
"Did you enjoy the show?" she taunted. I simply rolled my eyes and stuck my tongue at her.
"Come on, you two. Quit bickering and play volley with me." Adrianne cut in, tugging on Marissa's hair.
"God, Drianne! What'd I say 'bout the hair?!" she wined as she pushed Adrianne's hand away from her hair. I guess she has every right to worry about her hair, after all, she has the best hair in the batch. You see… Marissa has really NICE long, straight and SILKY auburn locks, and the amazing thing is… she's never had any treatment done on it! Seriously! No rebonding! Duh! I still don't get why people pay to get horse tails on their head… No hot oils… though I'm not sure if that really counts as treatment. But you get the gist…
"Sorry, sorry." Adrianne muttered before tossing the beach ball at me. I caught and scowled at her. Honestly… I wasn't paying attention. It's just a good thing that I have good reflexes. Hahaha…
"Can't we just tan? The sea water isn't good for my hair." Marissa wined once more. God… sometimes she can be such a baby. Honestly! One bad hair day WON'T kill her.
"God, Ris! One bad hair day won't kill you!" I commented, voicing out my thoughts.
"Oh… I don't think you get it, Kris." Adrianne commented slyly.
"Get what?!"
"Isn'tit obvious?!"
"NO!"
"Come on, Kris! Think!"
"NO! Just tell me already! It's the end of summer! Let me enjoy my last days of no thinking."
"It doesn't take much to figure it out."
"Then just tell me already!"
"Duh! She wants to be near the hotties."
Oh… I grinned sheepishly at my best friend whilst Marissa scowled.
"Really, Adrianne… must you be so blatant?" Marissa questioned, mocking anger.
"It's just a part of who I am and you know you love me for it."
God… they're gonna keep on bickering and bickering… I pushed a piece of seaweed floating nearby away from me. The color just doesn't go with my white bikini.
Just then, a Frisbee flew right at me, hitting me squarely on the throat. I instantly felt my oxygen supply get cut off causing me to gasp for air. Adrianne and Marissa immediately stopped bickering and hurried to my side just as I caught breath once more.
"Fuck. I'm so sorry." A boy with blue grey eyes and spiked black hair was splashing towards me, the sea water splashing over his to die for body.
"What the hell is your problem?!" I spat as he reached my side. Focus Kris. FOCUS. Do not be distracted by his abs… or eyes.
"You should have been watching out for yourself." He replied crossly, all trace of remorse gone from his voice.
"Hello! I didn't throw the damn Frisbee! You could have killed me!" That's it. Don't lose focus. Just because he's hot, doesn't mean he's nice.
"It's a damn Frisbee! How would it kill you?!"
"It hit me on the throat, you ass!"
"And so?! It was just for a moment!"
"Well what if it had pushed my larynx in?!"
"Well it didn't!"
"Well it could have!"
Before the jerk could reply, the 'surfer no-brainer' that I had noticed earlier pulled jerk away from me.
"I'm really sorry. My friend's a bit inaccurate with his throws you see." He explained, give me a charming smile.
"Keep a leash on him, won't you?" Marissa cut in, her eyes connecting with his.
"Will do." He winked at her before dragging his friend away from him. Now that is what I'll NEVER understand. Why do perfectly good guys hang out with jackasses like that?!
"You okay, Kris?" Adrianne worriedly asked me as we got out of the water. I simply nodded before throwing the most spiteful glare I could muster towards the jerk. He returned the glare simply pissing me off even more.
"God… I ABSOLUTELY hate that ass." I told my friends as I lay on our vast beach blanket.
"Come on, Kris… Don't be so harsh." Adrianne stated as I rolled on my front and let her apply lotionon my back. I simply closed my eyes and soaked in the sun. I refuse to let some jerk ruin the remainer of my summer.
