Something You Can't Hold Back
Chapter 1:
Welcome to Wilmington
An elegant black limo pulled in front of the stairs of the old, luxurious building. The driver hurried back to the passenger door, and held it open to allow a young girl of sixteen to exit. Tyler Madison was a strikingly beautiful girl, with long blonde hair that fell way past her shoulders, her soft curls gracefully moving with the slight wind. She wore large brown sunglasses that shaded her eyes from the September sun. The white sun dress she wore along with a short brown sweater showed off her tanned body, which was short and slender, yet held a lot of curves in all the right places. She smiled slightly as she looked up the large building, showing a perfect row of white teeth under her full pink lips.
The driver went around to the trunk, taking out her two large bags. Tyler then grabbed her smaller bag, and gracefully walked up the stairs. Before entering the large doors ahead, she looked up at the large letters above.
Wilmington Academy for Boys… This is going to be an interesting year. She smiled to herself.
"Miss Madison." The driver cleared his throat from behind.
"Oh, I'm sorry sir." She smiled brightly. "I got a little distracted." Her sweet voice was coated with a southern accent.
"Don't worry, miss." The driver smiled at the pretty girl before him. She laughed internally at his thick British accent. That's something she'll have to get used to. He opened the door for her, as she walked in with an expression of awe. Lifting the large sunglasses to rest on the top of her head, she revealed a brilliant pair of electric blue eyes.
Tyler scanned the vast, stylish foyer of the academy. "It's gorgeous." She whispered, as she looked at the marble floors, and the large staircase.
"This way, miss." Tyler followed the driver as he walked over to the right of the foyer towards the administration hallway. He walked down the long hallway towards the large office in the back. He set down her luggage, and opened the door.
"Mrs. Madison, Miss Madison has arrived." The door then opened up all the way, to reveal a lovely elderwoman, someone Tyler knew very well. The lady smiled broadly, her dull blue eyes sparkled. Her gray hair was held in a tight bun.
"Thank you, Mr. Carry." She said in a cheerful tone, in a British accent very noticeable. "Have a good day." She handed him various coins, with he toke gratefully.
"You too, ma'am." He smiled back, and walked out the door.
The elder lady walked up to Tyler comfortingly, embracing the petite girl in a hug. "I've missed you, darling." She smiled, stroking Tyler's blonde hair.
"I've missed you too, Gram." Tyler smiled, taking in the scent of roses. Her grandmother always smelled like roses. That was one of her fondest memories of her grandmother when she was younger. She hadn't seen Lydia Madison since she was six years old, when Lydia moved to London to take this job, Headmistress of Wilmington Academy. Which was one of the most prestigious school's in England.
Lydia took a step back, looking at her granddaughter once more. "You're a splitting image of your mother." She smiled remorsefully. Tyler knew this and nodded, sadly. "Darling, come take a seat." She pointed towards one of the two leather chairs in the large office. She noticed pictures of her, and her family around the room. She smiled slightly, remembering when they were taken.
"Now, you do know this is an all boys' school." Her grandmother's voice took her from her thoughts.
"Yes." She smiled amusingly.
"Well, for one, you better behave." She smiled knowingly.
"Oh, I will. I promise." She said honestly, nodding her head vigorously.
"I was thinking about allowing you to have your own room, but I decided it would take away from the experience, and I do want you to be socially active. So, you indeed will be sharing a room with a young man. Also, I looked at your transcript, and I must say, your grades are spectacular. You'll do fine in classes." Tyler smiled at her glowing grandmother. It was obvious she was very proud of Tyler. "I'm trying to talk Coach Harlow to allow you to play football."
"Football?" Tyler asked, her faced showing an expression of confusion.
"Soccer I should say." She laughed. Living in London for ten years has definitely wore off on her. "I know in the States, you were very good at it."
"I guess." Tyler shrugged. Yes, indeed, she was good, but she's mostly played with girls.
"Well anyways, I would love to talk to you more, and I'm sure we'll have time to…" She trailed off, looking for the right words to say. She knew Tyler was still sensitive from accident. "…catch up." Tyler nodded, understanding. "Here is your room assignment, and some of the rules, it's a standard for us to give these out. Don't worry, I trust you." She laughed slightly from watching Tyler stiffen. "Classes start in week, meaning next Monday, tonight there is the welcoming assembly, and tomorrow is registration. Now, I must warn you, watch out for some of these boys, especially since you're as pretty as you are." Tyler smiled at her grandmother's comment.
"Yeah, I'll keep an eye out." She laughed.
"Good, good. Now the elevators our out in the main foyer, and later you could possibly get your roommate to take you on a tour of the school."
"It's a beautiful school, by the way."
"Thank you. I'll be sure to talk to you later, my dear. But I must go, there's an administration meeting before the students arrive." She kissed her granddaughter on her cheek.
"Okay. Bye, Gram." She smiled, and walked out of her office, grabbing her two suit cases, and her small hand bag. She started to trudge down the hallway and out into the foyer, as her grandmother began to chuckle as she watched her determined young granddaughter pull the suitcases behind her slowly.
…
Tyler looked down at the paper with the honorable Wilmington seal at the top.
Room 642... I wonder who I'm going to be roommates with… I hope he's nice… and hott. That'd be a plus.
Opening the door, she stepped in and pulled her suitcases in behind her. Her arms were starting to ache from carrying them. Who knew suitcases were such a workout…
She took a good look around the room. There was a navy colored couch made with a soft material, with a television across on the other wall. On the other sides, there were two desks, with navy lamp shades and navy chairs to match the couch. There was a large window behind the couch, which gave a good view into the side courtyard. The walls were a cream colored paint, and the floor was wood, with a cream colored carpet in the middle. It was an attractive room, she nodded in approval.
She walked back to the door that led to the bedroom. She walked in, and the walls were a lighter color, and the double beds were a sage green color. The wood furniture was a light color of brown, and there were two armoires, and one large dresser in front, with a large mirror above.
Tyler then walked into the bathroom, and saw there was a large shower, that thankfully you wouldn't be able to see through the frosted glass. The sinks and floor were a tan marble color, as well as the toilet. A mirror was above each sink, and there was plenty of room for both her and her room mate.
Tyler squealed in delight pulling off her sunglasses, and began to unpack her suitcases after deciding she wanted the bed closest to the window. She hummed along happily as time went by.
A low whistle came from behind her. Tyler instantly turned around to see a handsome boy. It was her roommate she guessed. She studied him discreetly. He was tall, probably around six feet, and had a nice build. She could see the muscles in his tanned arms because of his navy polo shirt and he wore nice blue and navy plaid shorts just the right length. He had shaggy brown hair, but not too long, under a backwards white baseball cap. His eyes were a gorgeous deep brown color. She smiled to herself in approval, he was very attractive. While she did this, he studied her as well. "So, are you my roommate's girlfriend?" He asked. She noticed his voice held an attractive British accent, it wasn't thick, but it was there. "Because, if you are, damn…" he cockily smiled.
"I'm not your roommate's girlfriend..." She laughed, cocking her head at the boy standing a couple feet in front of her.
He scratched the back of his neck. "Well, are you his sister?" She became very amused with the boy.
"No, actually… I'm your roommate." She smiled in satisfaction at his reaction. He didn't know what to say.
I'm rooming with a girl…Wilmington's an all boys school, what is she doing here? I mean, the girl is gorgeous, but what on earth is she doing here, in my room?! Not that I mind…
"It's an all boys school though." He said, shoving his hands in his pockets, resisting the urge to yell.
"Yeah, well I go here now. So I guess it isn't so much anymore. Besides, it's only one girl." She smiled, surprised by how well he took it. He nodded, still holding a look of confusion. "I'm Tyler Madison. Nice to meet you." She waltzed over to the boy and held out her hand.
"Trenton Parker. Call me Trent, though." He said, taking her hand for a second. A shock jolted through both of them as they touched for that small second. "Are you American?"
"Yeah, I just got here today actually."
"You have a funny accent for an American." He smirked at the petite girl standing before him.
"Yeah, I know. I lived in Georgia." She smiled proudly up at him.
"Oh." He replied, walking over to the bed nearest to the window.
"Whoa, that's my bed."
"Not anymore." He said, putting his bag on the bed.
"But I already unpacked!" she defended, stepping on the other side of the bed.
"What a shame…" He smirked cockily, and unzipped his suitcase. "I guess you'll have to move your clothes then."
"Trent, come on. That isn't fair."
"It's an all boys school; therefore, I get what I want, simply because you don't belong here."
"Are you always so mean?" She snapped back at him, as she kneeled on the bed.
"Oh yeah, get used to it. By the way, nice view." He answered arrogantly, as his eyes traveled down to the front of her white dress.
"Trent!" She screeched, trying to shove his suitcase off the bed, and cover her chest with the small brown sweater she wore.
"Fine, you spoiled prat." He huffed, placing his bag on the other bed. "I can't believe I have to room with you." He sneered.
"I can't believe I have to room with you. You arrogant jerk." She replied in the same tone, falling back on her bed loudly.
"I bet your parents give you everything you want." He scoffed as he unpacked his things. Tyler shot up right quickly.
"Don't ever talk about them that way. Ever." Tyler defended forcefully, her voice shaking and her eyes were glistening with moisture. Trent noticed this, and decided not to push the subject. He mumbled a sorry, as Tyler diverted her attention to the window.
…
Trent was finishing up his unpacking as he heard the television in the other room. Tyler was watching it, waiting for him to finish. Tyler was one confusing girl, he didn't get her. Yes, she was very attractive, but she had spunk and personality, unlike any other girl he had met. She was definitely one of a kind, and he hadn't figured out if it was a good thing.
Tyler relaxed, lounging across the couch, as Trent walked in the room. He was heading towards the door.
"Where are you going?" Tyler asked, cocking a light eyebrow.
"To walk around, find some people to hang out with." He said a little heatedly, studying the girl.
"Can I come?" She questioned further, sitting up.
"…Sure." He answered. He wondered how his friends would take her. He watched her get up gracefully, and slip on small brown flip flops. He opened the door for her. "Ladies first." He smirked, as she sent him a glance in return.
They walked down the hall together, seeing many boys arriving. They all sent Tyler curious glances, and every couple she'd receive a cat call. This was nothing new to her, she seemed unfazed by it.
"I'm going to get lost." She said after a few minutes of silence.
"Yeah, it's a big school." Trent agreed, stuffing his hands in his pockets.
"Definitely, I don't know where anything is." He smiled at the sound of her southern accent.
"Well think of it this way. The fourth floor is where the freshman board, the fifth is for sophomores, the sixth is for us juniors, and the top floor is for the seniors." She nodded in response. "The second and third are for classes, and they main floor has the auditorium by the administration hall, then the cafeteria if you go straight ahead from the foyer, and then the gym and weight room. It's not hard, you'll get it."
"Oh." She paused. "Still sounds complicated."
"Don't worry about it. You'll get it." He assured.
"Where are we going?" She asked curiously.
"Room 604." He answered in a monotone.
"Who's room is that?"
"My friend's room."
"Oh. That makes sense." He chuckled softly at her comment. "Room 604!" She pointed excitedly. "I was getting tired of walking."
"Lazy ass." He snickered.
"I am not a lazy ass!" She retorted, folding her arms over her chest.
"Yes, you are."
"No, I'm not!"
"Yes, you are." He said again, nearing the door.
"No, I'm not." He knocked three times, then looking down at the small girl challenging him.
"Yes, you are!"
"No, I'm not! You hardly know me!" She said, as the door opened.
"Tyler, shut up!" he scoffed, turning his attention to is friend at the door. "Hey mate." He smiled, while the two boys did the 'manly' hug they all do.
"It's been too long." The boy with tidy black hair smiled, his eyes traveling up and down the blonde. "Who's the girl?" He asked, leaning against the door frame.
"Don't get me started on her." He seethed, and walked in the room.
"Is your friend always such a jerk?" Tyler huffed.
"Nah, I don't know what's wrong with him." He said, his British accent much thicker then Trent's. Trent's was more appealing, when he wasn't so mean.
"I'm Tyler Madison, Trent's roommate." She held hand out.
"It's lovely meeting you, Miss Madison." He kissed her hand gently. "I'm Ryan Kingsley." His emerald green eyes glistened as they watched her intently. She smiled shyly, and went into the dorm, walking past Ryan's tall, lean form. She noticed their dorm looked exactly like her dorm.
Ryansmirked, watching her hips sway as she walked past him. Trent was talking with another boy. He was handsome as well, though not as tall as Trent or Ryan. His hair was blonde, and neatly kept, with a bit of a sway. His hazel eyes were an almond shape, and very fit. He smiled at Tyler as she entered. "Damn, Trent, where'd you pick her up?" He said looking the girl up and down. She shifted uncomfortably, but she had a feeling she would have to get used to it.
"Andy, I would never pick up a girl like that..." He snapped. Tyler glared at him, while a look of hurt crossed through her eyes. She hoped he wasn't serious, but from the tone, he sounded like he meant it.
"Well, your loss." She replied, her voice fading a bit. The three boys didn't seem to notice.
"You'd be dumb if you didn't, Trent." The blonde boy smiled at Tyler.
"She's annoying…" he whined. "And she's a spoiled prat."
"I am not!" She crossed her arms, glaring fiercely. "You egotistical jerk."
"I bet you don't even know how to spell that you dumb blonde." Tyler's blue eyes widen. That was one insult she didn't take. She was about to retort back, but Andy cut her off.
"Let's go find some people or something." He said quickly.
"Yeah, good idea, mate." Ryan agreed. Both boys were walking out the door, while Trent and Tyler stared at one another for a moment. He moved his perfect lips, about to say something, but before the words could leave his mouth, Tyler turned on her heel, and joined the other boys.
Groaning in frustration, Trent followed his friends, and the one girl he couldn't stand, yet he couldn't get enough of her. It's hard to believe he's only known her for only a few hours…
Tyler walked up beside Ryan and Andy. She smiled sweetly, as they looked down at her. Ryan cast a glance back at Trent, who was trailing a couple steps behind, smirking victoriously.
He put his arm around the girl's shoulders, caressing them slightly. "Welcome to Wilmington, Tyler." He whispered in her ear as she giggled. Tyler was well aware that Trent was watching her every move. She could feel his eyes bore into her back.
Trent felt as if he wanted to punch his best friend in the face. He felt betrayed, and yet had no idea why. He glared at his friend, and quickened his pace to catch up to them.
"Boy, I may be blonde, but I'm not easy." She laughed, taking his hand off her small shoulders.
Trent felt a wave of relief flow over him.
This was definitely going to be an interesting year…
