You see, there was a boy. He was alone in the world, and he was cold and he was tired. He was sick of living with out love. And so he became one of those people that says: "Fuck everything" when they really mean, "Please love me." And he was dying by fractions everyday.

You see, there was a girl. She was unhappy. Not because she was cold and tired and sick of living without love. It was because her sister was cold and dead and buried six feet under when there was love waiting for her above the turf. And she became one of those people that says: "Thank you for your understanding in this difficult time" when they really mean, "Shut the fuck up and leave me alone." And she was dying by fractions everyday. But she fought for every point zero zero two of herself that disappeared.

You see, there was this high school. And it was a pretty dull high school. It was host to the usual making up and breaking up and geeks and cheerleaders and drama and science club. But there was also a girl, and the boy with whom she fell very much in love. He was popular, in the mysterious who-the-hell-is-that-? sort of way. And she was an if-I-was-bored on the I'd-do-her-if scale.

You see, there's this thing called love. And sometimes it's wonderful, and sometimes it fucks everything up really damn good. Unfortunately, this was one of the times when it fucks everything up really damn good. Long story short, there was some begging and some pleading, a lot of tears, some electricity, some angst, and some not-quite-kisses. And then he left, because he was giving away fractions of himself every day now, and he wasn't sure how much longer he could hold on until she owned all of him. She did some more crying, and then she moved on.

You see, there's this thing called fate. Some times it fucks everything up really damn good, and sometimes it fixes things.

And this time, it was somewhere in between.
