The Divorceé

Rough and tough, the laugh
the face strained from effort
the mouth stretched to fit
an image created for the eyes
of the person she's walking with
his wit's just wasting away
jokes pass by the scarred mind
or maybe it's the heart
of this recent divorceé
she's less interested in him
than he is in getting her in bed
and as detached as she is now
he won't be seeing any action tonight.
