Chapter 1:

Blondie looked past him to the happy girl standing behind him. It was really over. After two years of dedication, he was leaving her. She closed her eyes as the tears started to fall from her eyes. She knew from the second she met him that he was going to break her heart fro his cheesy lines to the way he looked at her. He wasn't just another guy. He was special. He was hers. She couldn't believe that this was happening… It's not you, it's me. The words echoed through her mind.

"Fine…" Blondie looked at him one more time. That's what she gets for falling in love with a rocker. He may not be of big fame but he was still in the most recognized band of Los Angeles. She sighed. It wouldn't take him long to get over her. She just wished there was a way to show him that she really did care. His sister was wrong, she wasn't just using him. She loved every second she got to spend with him.

"Blondie…" He slowly reached out to her. He couldn't take the pain in her eyes. The truth was he was scared. He had never been in love before and he didn't understand the way she possessed him. When he was with her nothing else mattered.

"Please… Don't make this worse then it already is Jensen. You don't have to worry about me…" She said softly as she turned and headed towards the door. She was always the one who was unbreakable and now here she was broken. He was the only one who could get to her… There was no one else.

Standing in her apartment she realized LA isn't the place where dreams were made, it was the city where they were shattered. Her singing career was shot down after a miserable attempt at open mic night. Her love life was no fairy tale. The only thing that ever made sense was her friends in San Francisco. She had to go home… even if it meant living with her parents until she could get a real job. She packed her stuff and said good bye to all her dreams. It was all over and it hadn't even begun.

Back in San Francisco Lana was flirting with several men on a dance floor at a local dance club singing with the music. TaTu was playing loudly through out the club and all eyes were on the hypnotizing blonde. Her blue eyes glowed under the lights as her hips swung to the beat.

"You can sing!" One if the men said as he came closer. He stood in front of her face to face as the song stopped.

"Yeah, what's it you?" Lana said as she looked up to her friend Jewel who was the DJ for the night.

"I'm a producer."

Lana laughed and walked away toward the bar where her other best friend was sitting yelling at some guy for hitting on her again. Lana ordered two drinks as her friend lost hers to the shirt of the punk sitting next to her.

"You think I'm going to fall for that?" Lana said when she turned around and she the man with surfer boy good looks and a grin that could break hearts. She almost wanted to believe him, but her band was struggling. Although they had three members, the music wasn't the same since Blondie left to pursue a career of her own. She barely even called any more.

"I just know talent when I see it. Whether you believe it or not is not my problem. I can work with plenty of other bands… I just don't want to." He said as he walked closer to her.

"You don't believe in personal space do you?"

He shook his head and handed her a card. He smiled at her one more time as he grabbed a cell phone out of his pocket and walked out of the club.

Lana looked down at the card as she walked him walk away. I don't know how god he is with music… But he definitely is good at the gym… And that ass…

She was broken out of thoughts by her own cell phone vibrating. She looked at her best friend questioningly and pulled her away from the bar. How Blondie even remember they existed. She was going to give her a piece of her mind.

"What is it? I was enjoying my drink thank you very much!" Her friend VC said as they walked out into the parking lot away from all the music to get the call. They could have gone to the bathroom but it was always crowded.

"Blondie…" Lana said as she flipped her phone open. "Girl, don't even get me started on how you…"

"Lana, please, I need a friend right now…" Blondie interrupted from the other end of the phone crying. She was sitting inside the back of a taxi pulling into her hometown.

"What is it honey?"

"I'm sorry I haven't called… Its just I met this wonderful guy. Hot, talented, as passionate as I am, but that's over now…" She paused as she cried uncontrollably.

"Where are you? I'll drive to LA if I have to. Do you want VC to go beat him up…? Or better yet she can throw Crystal on him!"

"I'm almost to my mom's house."

"I'll be there in five… We all will."

Lana hung up the phone and looked at VC. She sighed and smiled at the same time. She didn't even have to tell the red-head in front of her what was going on. It was a friend crisis and that was all that mattered.

Jewel ran out of the club cursing that she had to wear high heels. She ran her hands through her hair to straighten out her hair. "Guess what!"

"Aliens abducted the president and you're going to be in charge of running the country," VC joked as she walked to the other side of Lana's car and got in the back seat behind Lana in the passenger seat. Jewel was the only one who hadn't drank at all that night. She wasn't allowed to drink.

"How many drinks have you had? Anyways, that's not the point. Joker is coming to Fairies." Jewel said turning the ignition. She squealed in excitement. It was one of her favorite underground bands from California. One of the only bands to give her their cd to play at the clubs she worked at.

"We have to go to Blondie's… Who's this Joker band?" Lana said as she looked out her window watching the street lights go by.

"Only the hottest band in all of California… Not only are they good they are hot as hell" Jewel said as she drove up to Blondie's driveway. The three girls got out and run up to the porch where the heart broken woman was sitting.

"Hey honey, how you hanging in there," Lana said as she sat down next to her. She put her arms around Blondie's shoulders as she cried. They just sat there as the night when on. There was nothing to say. When true love ends there are no new beginnings, at least not right away. Blondie just needed to know someone was there.

Jewel and VC joined in the hug making it a group hug. They all forgot about how Blondie hand abandoned them and just picked up where they left off. They understood because they probably all would have done the same thing if they had the chance to.

The next morning Crystal was sitting at a local café talking on her phone as she waited for her sister and friends to meet her. She was assigned manager because she had no talent whatsoever when it came to singing.

"I know Ni! It will be so great to see you again. I just can't believe that Jensen is letting you come with him. Normally he would have you locked in a chastity belt in a padded room in a straight jacket." Crystal said as she motioned to her sister as the four entered.

"Well," Naomi paused for a moment leaving Crystal to wonder. "I am kind of keeping something from him. I've been dating his best friend!"

"No way!" Crystal laughed as she smiled at the four girls. "Well, hey I have to go my big sis is here. Time for business." She hung up the phone. "You look like shit!"

"Nice to see you again too Crystal," Blondie said as she sat across from the girl who almost looked like a younger VC.

"Be nice you little…" VC warned as she hit her sister on the arm.

Everyone ordered a coffee and a bagel. The waitress quickly brought back their order quickly.

"Well. There aren't a lot of bookings right now because everyone is preparing for the big visitor. So my biggest piece of advice is to just go to the concert tonight and have a good time, because that's what I'm going to do." Crystal said getting to the point as she watched everyone else eat.

"Crystal, you seem to like know everyone have you ever heard of a guy name Matt…" Lana started to ask before getting cut off.

"Thorpe? Yep, he used to be this hot band but replaced for a total loser. I heard he's bitter and is looking to beat them at the battle of the bands because for the first time in like 10 years the prize is a record company."

Lana laughed as she pulled out her card. She looked at the doorway….

"Speak of the devil. You guys should really work with him. He could be great for your sound." Crystal said standing up.

"I bet I could think of a few other uses for him," Jewel said as she saw him.

He had model good looks. He was slender and toned with an eight pack instead of the normal six which he showed off by wearing a perfect fitting white beater. His faded jeans had holes in the jeans to prove they have been over worn. His hair was spiked and frosted at the tips hiding his natural dark roots.

"Hey there stranger," crystal said as she walked up to him. She normally would flirt with such a sexy guy but she had other things in her mind. She wasn't about to lose focus.

"What do you want?"

"I have a proposition for you."

"I don't think so. Anything with you involved can't be good."

"Hot Lips has a new member and someone with even more hate for Joker then you have."

"I highly doubt that!"

"Do you remember Jensen's ex-girlfriend Blondie," Crystal said pulling him to the table.

"I don't do charity work."

"What's your price?"

"Um Crystal, can I holler at you for a second," VC said pulling her sister down by her as the girls huddled together.

"We don't have any money to give." Lana said looking around at the others. The only reason they were paying their apartment bill was because of Jewel. She allowed everyone to camp out in her living room.

"Yeah, even I can't afford him," Jewel said looking up at the guy standing in front of the table listening to ever word they said trying not to laugh.

Blondie was silent as they all discussed how this would cost them more then he would actually be worth. After about five minutes of arguing Crystal finally got them to listen to her and let her handle this one thing.

"You can pay me later. I don't know how much it will cost you. But I do know you have some real talent. I've heard your talent. Call me; we'll set up some times." He said as he walked away.

"Crystal what the hell did you just do?!" VC shouted. All four of the other girls were inching closer to the red-head.

"He won't charge money… I hope."

"What else would he charge?" Lana asked looking at her as if Crystal was the most stupid person on the face on the planet.

"I don't know but he's weird like that." Crystal said as she looked at her watch. "Anyways I have an old friend to meet. Just have some fun now and think of new songs…. No offense but you guys aren't thirteen anymore… It's almost ten years later performing some new songs could do you some good."

VC rolled her eyes as she pushed her sister away. She knew too much for her own good. She may only be seventeen, but she was well beyond her years, mostly due to her own influence.

"So how about a good night on the town? I'm positive you guys will love tonight's band?" Jewel said as she stood up.

"I think I'm just going to stay in for the night. I have to unpack and get settled." Blondie said taking another sip of her drink.

"You sure, I don't want to leave you hanging." Lana asked as she noticed how sad Blondie actually looked. Lana was always the one with the problems. It was almost the first time she had actually seen Blondie break down. She was almost scared for her.

"Yeah, I think I just need to be alone for a night anyways. Don't worry I have my guitar to keep me company." Blondie said standing up. She smiled at her friends trying to be strong and walked away. The pain was still too fresh to do anything.

The other three girls looked at each other and shrugged. They had bug night of fun ahead of them. They weren't going to let Blondie's disastrous love life get in their way of a good time even if the right thing to do was stay home with her.
