I'm dancing in the rain again

Cold splatters of water graze my face

My body is chilled to the core

Yet my mind is filled with a smooth warmth

Spreading from my soul to the under layer of my skin

With every droplet, memories flood like an oncoming storm

Red gumboots, yellow rain slicker hats in the mist

Child laughter so sincere

Spinning in puddles, waltzing with the wind

Starring towards the sky, looking for

Constellations in the raging sky

Twisting in a tango with thunder

The heat is leaving now

The storm is blowing over

Memories fading, numbness sinking in

Holding on to fleeting drops

That are afraid to fall, don't fear

I'm dancing with the rain again
