Spirit Guardians: Children of Ages
by Belle the Shadow-Cat

This story along with Belle's Children of Ageswill be co-related, so keep an eye on both stories! That wayyou can get the full experience of this new instalment of Spirit Guardians. The two stories will be working hand in hand.

OVERTURE

Before the end of civilization, there was a time when Man and Guardian lived together, standing in the face of menace; bearing each other's sorrow; sharing each other's glory. Those days are gone. The world has gone red and dusty. Life is scattered amongst the stones, and Death is full to the brim. The Guardians have all died.

There are few colonies left in the post-apocalyptic Farinia that have remained intact. Many wander the deserts. Many sit and wait for Death to swallow them up. Some gather together in hope. For the Guardians have died, but their spirits live.

They seek to set the Guardians free. They seek to restore Life to the dead land they once called utopia. They fear they will fall into Death, and yet, they long to be set free from the torture that they Live. There is hope in Farinia. There is promise in Farinia… they hope.

Guide's Name: (Self explanatory – make it a normal name, please. European/North American, preferably.)

Age: (Be reasonable – no person should be 100, or even 60 for that matter, in this story, at least – unless you REALLY want an elderly character. Vampires can be extended a bit.)

Gender: (Male or Female, no 'its' please)

Species: Human, Vampire, Sprite (a little person), Enta-Kashma or Kojani (if you know what they are). They're all humanish.

Appearance: What your character looks like. Include appearance, markings, facial hair, clothing likes, etc.

Personality: There will be a serious plot to the story, but I'd like to have a humourous cast of characters. So, make your character interesting, and by interesting, I don't mean complex with some long boring history. Just – think of a cliché personality trait, and blow it out of proportion, and I'll probably like it. I feel like being experimental with this story. Characters who are CHARACTERS, are much more interesting than plain people. Unless, you make an EXTREMELY plain character. Hey. Why not?

If you give me something like "George is a little bit scared, but not completely scared, and will be brave sometimes." What fun is that? Give me something like "George is your typical paranoid basket-case. He worries about everything. Pessimism just spews from his mouth." Now, that's a fun character to play with! If you have a hard time thinking of flaws, think of one of the seven deadly sins (Pride, Anger, Lust, Laziness, Greed, Gluttony, Envy) and blow it out of proportion. Just trying to help inspire you.

Regalia: "The Royal Beasts", as they are called. A Regalia is a symbol of your Character's Guardian – which comes into their possession when they are young. The Regalia are objects that possess the essence of a Guide's Guardian. Regalia come in the form of an object that has connected with the Guide, usually a weapon, or in some cases, unusual items. It possesses elemental power (based on your Guardian's element).

Please submit a Regalia, which will serve as your character's weapon/tool. It can be any existing object (ex. A Sword, A Bow, A Shovel, A Book, A Jar)… as long as it can sort of be used in self-defence, then it is fine. Don't be afraid of guns – this does take place in a post-apocalyptic setting. I will only be accepting one type of weapon from each person, though. However, be reasonable. Don't make the item stupid, like a bed or a computer printer. Honestly.

Optional Ability: Is there a certain power you think your character should have (that's not elemental)? Then, suggest it to me. OR, if you're unsure and feel like being risky, pick one of the following colours (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, or Violet), and your special ability will be decided through the colour choice.

Guide Stats

You have 50 points to divide amongst the following stats, which will help me gauge your Guide's abilities in comparison to other Guides and Guardians. No stat may be less than 3.

Might: (Guide's physical strength)

Fortitude: (Guide's health and ability to resist physical attacks)

Speed: (Guide's speed)

Spirit: (Guide's strength in the Elemental arts)

Resilience: (Guide's ability to resist magical attacks)

Guardian's Name: (Your character's non-human companion's name)

Gender: (Male, Female, or perhaps even 'it')

Species: (Your Guardian can be anything – any kind of animal or creature from your imagination: dragon, dinosaur, wolf, spider – you name it. Just don't make it overly complicated, such as, "My Guardian is a really tiny spider, with a giant human head, has ten pairs of eagle wings, and a turtle shell". Just give it a name here.)

Appearance: What your Guardian actually looks like.

Personality: (Again, the most important part. As Guardians can and DO talk and speak like every sentient creature, they have very developed and diverse personalities. These creatures are a little more majestic than Guides, considering, they no longer exist and remain only as ancient spirits. Still, have fun with a recognizable personality archetype)

Element:
What element does your Guardian possess? This will also affect your Guide character's abilities.

Fire
Water
Wind
Force
Earth
Thunder
Mirror
Chronos
Light
Dark

Explanations:

Fire: Fire guardians can wield/create/and or manipulate fire and anything to do with fire.

Water: Water guardians wield the ability to create, and/or influence water and its forms. These guardians are excellent swimmers, and if not aquatic by nature, they can breathe underwater.

Wind: Guardians of the wind element can manipulate airflow and oxygen levels. These Guardians, even if they do not have wings, can 'walk' or 'float' seemingly on the wind with ease.

Force: These Guardians manipulate earthly forces – shifting the forces of gravity and pressure, among others.

Earth: Earth Guardians can manipulate and/or create things of the earth – including aspects of nature and things such as earth and rocks – pretty easy to imagine.

Thunder: These Guardians can muster electrical forces.

Mirror: Mirror Guardians are excellent illusionists and are able to create and maintain illusions of the eye, ear, and touch (Some guardians specialize in one aspect; some excel in many, it depends) and other aspects of transformations. They can also create shields and such defensive abilities. Keep in mind that Mirror Guardians use a lot of energy when using their abilities, and get tired out easily when using their abilities – especially the bigger ones.

Chronos: Your Guardian can manipulate time in some of its forms. They can still the moment ('freeze time') fast forward a small amount, or backwards. All of this takes a tremendous amount of energy and power.

Light: Your Guardian can create and manipulate Light – or what was once called Holy powers.

Darkness: Also known as 'dark'. Guardians of Darkness excel in the darker arts and skills – they also have a perchance for poisons.

Guardian Stats

You have 64 points to divide amongst the following stats, which will help me determine your Guardian's abilities – in comparison to others. No stat may be less than 3.

Fortitude: (Guardian's health and ability to resist physical attacks)

Speed: (Guardian's speed)

Spirit: (Guardian's strength in the Elemental arts)

Resilience: (Guardian's ability to resist magical attacks)
