THIRSTING FOR THE RAIN

The rain nurtures the seed
From which a flower grows
The flower soon buds and blossoms
To praise the sun that glows

The Light begins to dwindle
Giving way to Dark and woe
The Dark bleeds ever larger
As black as wings of crows

Like a petal is a teardrop
And a thorn a wealth of pain
Like a seed is a beginning
Thirsting for the rain

Life's a bitter journey
Full of sour truths and tears
But amidst the bitter darkness
Sweet sunshine always nears

Because, of course,
As it happens everday,
Tomorrow is a new one
And Today's soon Yesterday
