As she gazes at me
As if asking why
Why is she like this?
Why has her inner flame been doused?
Her eyes stare into mine,
Searching for answers
As if wondering why
Why can't she turn back?
Why has she given up?
Her spirit cries
Beseeching me for help
As if it's her only chance
I can't do this.
I can't take this.
I can't help her.
Taking one last glance at her,
I turn away from the mirror.
