blind love
There was nothing special about him. Not attractive, not athletic, and certainly not talented. He was not the kind of guy I would go for. So why, why did I cheat on my boyfriend with him? Maybe it's his electric blue eyes which seem to zap me everytime I looked into them. Or maybe it's the way he seems to stare right into my soul, leaving me exposed.
The doorbell rang, snapping me out of my reverie. I instinctively straightened my skirt and fixed my hair.
"Hey." I smiled, feeling a jolt rushed through me at the sight of his blue orbs.
Erik's lips twitched up. "Dani." He drew out my name slowly and adopted an innocent expression. "Can I maul you?"
I giggled breathlessly. I don't even know what I love about him. He's so perverted straightforward; a trait that normally turns me off. That's how his twin brother, Evan, was like. I disliked Evan immediately, but somehow, Erik didn't produce the same reaction in me, although he is in many ways alike to Evan. I still remembered the first time he approached me. I was in the restroom, and he just barged in like he own the girls' toilet. He only said a sentence; "You'll be mine, Dani." Most girls would have freaked right there and then, but I was oddly fascinated with him. And that's how things lead up to this step.
Erik became impatient with the slight pause and pushed me backwards, slamming the door behind him and attaching his lips firmly with mine. I stumbled into the couch, and Erik fell on top of me. Our tongues clashed hungrily, and Erik's hands wandered under my skirt. His fingers grazed the underside of my throng teasingly, and I gasped out in surprise. Erik plays around sometimes, yes, but never this far.
I pushed his hand away and sat up, breaking our kiss. "Erik, that is over the boundary for me." I still have a boyfriend, dammit. Kissing is fine, but sexing? The guilt will be too much for me to take.
Erik rolled his eyes. "Loosen up, Dani." He seemed annoyed.
I sighed. "Look, it's all your fault for seducing me, so you just gotta live with the fact that you can't sex me until I live off the guilt for cheating on Lance."
"Oh, and it's not your fault for throwing yourself all over me?" He inquired sarcastically.
I winced. That stung.
"Either way, you're still cheating on him." Erik snapped.
Ouchy.
"Maybe we need some time apart."
I froze. He did not just say that.
"I'll break up with Lance." The words blurted out before I even have any time to think about it. I blinked. Well, too late now.
"Good." Erik breathed out. "After you do that, we're going to have a memorable night together." He winked suggestively.
My heart sank. What have I just done?
I stood outside Erik's house nervously. This was the night he'll take me, like I had promised him. The breakup with Lance had not been pretty, but it was over and done with. I rang the doorbell and waited.
Evan answered the door. His spark-green eyes trailed down my form and he whistled. "Looking good, babe." He grinned widely, lust evident in his eyes.
I feel like a whore.
"Get Erik." I snapped, not wanting his eyes longer on me than necessary.
Evan smirked, as if he knows something that I didn't. "Right this way, gorgeous." He mock-bowed.
I brushed by him and almost sighed in relief when I saw Erik setting up our dinner on the dining table. Erik looked up and smiled, taking me in his arms and planting a kiss on my forehead.
Evan rolled his eyes. "I'll leave you two lovebirds alone." I thought I detected a hint of jealously in his voice, but I brushed it off.
"Let's have our dinner." Erik said after Evan had left.
I shook my head. "I'm not hungry." Truth was, there were butterflies in my stomach right now.
Erik seemed to understand. "Let's have some wine first, then."
I nodded. Maybe some wine will loosen me up . . . for later.
Sunlight streamed in from the window, waking me up. I sat up and winced. I was sore all over. My eyes darted over to Erik, who was sleeping beside me. I smiled lightly. Last night had been memorable, like he had promised.
I rest my head on Erik's chest, peering up at him. My movement caused Erik to wake up, and he opened his eyes.
I immediately froze in horror.
"Fuck."
Panic seized my heart.
Evan sat up and ran his hand through his sandy-blonde hair. "Dani . . . " He started.
"Don't tell me you slept with me!" I yelled. "It's not you. It's Erik! Dammit!" My eyes scanned the room hysterically. Fuck. This is Evan's room.
Tears filled my eyes.
"Dani . . ." Evan tried to reach for me, but I shied away.
"Get out! Get Erik here . . . " I sobbed.
Evan paused before complying me. After he had left the room, I gathered up my clothes and put them on numbly.
This can't be happening. No.
"Dani."
I looked up at Erik, who looked strangely calm. "I didn't, Erik. I thought he was you." Tears streamed down my face.
"I know."
"What?"
Erik breathed out loudly. "Evan loves you, and I love Evan."
"What are you talking about?" I asked wildly.
"You heard me." Erik replied dully.
"I don't understand . . . " I whispered in confusion.
"I deliberately got you drunk last night. You're so intoxicated that you can't even tell Evan and me apart."
Realization hit me hard. Erik was using me. He was using me . . . to let Evan get to me.
I shook my head. "Don't you love me?" I whimpered.
"No." His tone was cold.
"I was a virgin!" I screamed out in anguish.
"I'm sorry for doing this to you, Dani. I didn't know." Erik threw me a sympathetic look.
"I hate you."
"Dani . . . you'll understand. " Erik stated softly.
I stared at him silently.
"Love is blind."
Indeed. If love was not blind, I would not have fallen into his trap and broke up with Lance. I would still be happy, living my life that's now destroyed . . . in one night.
A/N: Bah. I'm not even sure if anyone will read this. It's not good, in my opinion . . . but for all those waiting for an update from me, this is all I have to offer for now.
