Bedtime

Hush now, be quiet, or else it will hear

It always knows when you shed a tear

It lurks in the closet or under the bed

For hours and hours it hasnt been fed

Its horribly scary and ugly and mean

Nothing as gruesome has ever been seen

-:-

There! It comes nearer, cant anyone hear?

The creaking and cracking doubles the fear

The scraping of claws, a glinting, sharp tooth

Moves like a tigers, silent and smooth

Its right before you and ready to jump

Your heart explodes with every loud thump

-:-

Summoning all of the courage you find

You search for a weapon on the table behind

Its not gonna get you, just struggle and fight

And throw the next best thing with all of your might

When your hands meet only the water can

You regret that youre not a great baseball fan

-:-

Switching the light on the horror is gone

Looking for creatures you find there are none

Only a figure as rigid as rock

The eyes of the person wide in shock

Big brother stands dripping and drenched by the door

Creating a puddle on the floor

-:-

What is he doing here, is this a dream?

After all, monsters are not what they seem

Dedicated to everyone out there who has an older sibling. I am one myself, so I can only imagine what it must be like... ;-)
