Simplicity

A smile in my direction
With that twinkle in your eye
And somehow my entire day
Is spent up in the sky

I'm not sure how you manage
To make this feel so right
Or how whenever I feel dark
You bring me so much light

And often when I cannot bear
The bitter, mounting pain
You open up your arms to me
As we watch the falling rain

It's only this simplicity
That helps me day by day
