Silly Jane

That was her name

The girl with the golden mane.

The mane is gone,

Jane blames Tom,

Yes, the boy from down the lane.

Tom is hopping mad,

Jane is sobbing sad,

But Suzy had no such pains.

While Tom was flaming,

And Jane was blaming,

Suzy took it and ran away.

Suzy met Ben,

Who stopped her and then,

Requested to trade for the mane.

Suzy agreed,

Now Ben had three,

And Suzy was eating candy canes.

Ben showed his brother

That he had another

Glowing golden mane,

His brother was certain

To return one gold curtain,

To Jane, who lived up the lane.

Jane thanked Tom,

Who she had done wrong,

And who'd returned her beautiful mane.

And as for Miss Suzy,

She's in for a doozy,

Of a tooth ache for all of the pain

That she'd caused young Jane,

And the boys, and the mane,

And also those poor candy canes.
