Prologue

Frantic. Alone. Frightened. Charlotte fit that description well. She had been running for hours now it seemed, when it was only 3 minutes. Her foot slammed hard in the ground sending mud flying. Charlotte was getting tired, she couldn't keep this up she knew. She was coming up to a woods maybe she can hide there.

Her mysterious attacker was closing in on her fast. He was getting excited at what he was going to do with her, once he caught her. Anticipation welled up with in him as he was going to relive one of his fantasies. He already got 2 girls, now for his third.

Charlotte lost her footing in the mud and fell hard. She couldn't get up and her foot ached. So she started crawling. Her aching foot, which turned out to be broken, got caught in a root and was hopelessly tangled. Charlotte panicked and tried futilely to free her leg, it wouldn't budge. He was upon her now beginning to tear free her clothing. After he got her shirt and pants off he gave her a foul smelling chemical that knocked her out. He tore off the rest of her clothes and raped her. The man then threw her over his bare shoulder and carried her to his lair to continue the vile rape.

Chapter One

"What do you mean you can't help my fiancée!" Cedric yelled.

Heads turned but he didn't care, Charlotte was missing and he had to find her alive. She was expecting child and they just found out before her disappearance. He wouldn't lose them.

"Sir we can understand your grief but…"

"But what, huh? My fiancée is missing and my unborn child is as well, so I want them back." Cedric interrupted rashly.

"Sir, you aren't the only one missing somebody." The police aide replied calmly, with great effort. "Mr. Erickson and Mr. Raskter are missing their daughters. Unlike you they are trying to be calm and helpful."

"I'm sorry but I'm not going to sip tea and eat crackers as the love of my life is missing."

"That's not what I meant."

"Well what do you mean, eh?" Cedric fumed.

"What I mean is for you to calm down and let us do our job. You aren't helping us, in fact your making it even worse." The aide replied starting to get annoyed, fighting the urge to yell back.

Cedric stomped to one of the chairs, with fury and malice covering his face. He would of continued that little talk, you could say, but he saw some officers with guns coming his way. He really didn't want to be imprisoned when it was Charlotte's captor who really deserved this. He would make that person pay, with thy life.

"I'm sorry about your fiancée and unborn child." Mr. Erickson said softly to Cedric. "I lost my daughter to the same creep, I'm pretty sure of it."

Cedric calmed down a little bit, the anger and such draining from his face. "I'm so sorry about your daughter as well. What was her name?"

"Charise." He replied full of an unmistakable sadness, and guilt. "It's my fault she's gone."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, I left her alone in a deserted area by the Mêlée Woods. I should have just made her come with me. I felt something was out of place, yet I ignored it since she wanted to explore the woods a bit. She said she'll walk, but I knew it wasn't a good idea when it was that late. Yet I just…" Mr. Erickson looked down at his shaking hands, his face gaunt.

"You couldn't have known the future." Cedric stated gently, all traces of his previous anger gone like it never was.

"True but I should have listened to my instincts. Its like I handed her to him with open arms."

Cedric took a deep breath and replied, "Don't think like that, you'll only blame yourself more."

"But it is my own fault, is it not? I left her their alone in the middle of the dark. Fully knowing of the dangers and how my senses tugged at me. She even felt a little discomforted though she didn't say so. So how isn't it my fault?"

"Did you know she was going to be nabbed?" Cedric asked, looking Mr. Erickson straight in the eye. "Did You."

"No," he replied, sighing sadly.

"Did you leave her knowing she was in danger?"

"Na-No."

Cedric put his hand on the distraught man's shoulder, "Then you didn't do anything wrong." Mr. Erickson started to protest but Cedric quickly cut him off, "You did nothing wrong, you had no idea what was going to happen." In a way saying that calmed Cedric down from his worries.

As Cedric drove home he thought of Charlotte. His hands clutched at the steering wheel when he thought of what might be happening to her. "Don't think like that Cedric," he said to himself out loud. "She's fine, fine," he reassured himself. His breathing came fast as he was worried about her, reassurances not helping much at all. It was all he could manage, in his current state, to make it home in one piece.

"Shit!" Cedric swore when he dropped his house keys. He bent down to retrieve them and rose cautiously when he could have sworn that he heard a rustle near his home, sounding an awful lot like a cat. "Cats," he murmured remembering that they were her favorite animal and that she always wanted to name one of those critters Zesiu.

He put in the key slowly, not wanting to see that Charlotte wasn't there. Not waiting for him, not cooking her famous recipes, not even existing any more. He had failed to protect her like he promised that he always would no matter what the cost was.

The door creaked open gradually, seeming like an eternity has passed. His feet took control of him as one went in front of the other going into the room full of once happy memories, the ones that now haunted him. Cedric collapsed on the couch with his eyes turning red. He sniffled then one by one the tears came. A moan escaped his lips as he curled into a ball sobbing his heart out. 'This can't be happening,' he thought desperately. 'This just has to be a nightmare.'

'A nightmare that you'll never wake from,' a voice said from within him, one that he believed with a heavy heart.

Author's Note: So how's the first chapter, and prolouge? It's pretty short but good enough. So anyway, should I continue or no? If I continue they'll be some really interesting people being introduced, Heehee let the fun begin...
