Quietly I snuck down the stairs through the pitch black abyss that was my house. One by one the wooden stairs creaked under my weight in the dead of night. I peered around what I could see of the first floor of my house, but there wasn't much to see, the stairs lead directly to the front door. Quickly pulling it open, I was on my way out. Once I was out the door my world lit up dimly from the light of the stars… I glanced around and I could just barely see the soccer fields from here… I tore through my neighbor's back yards and front a like.. till I arrived at a small inlet of water surrounded by houses and trees… and smiling, I walked towards the great oak that belonged not to a house but to the water itself, and stood in the moon's light, waiting… Minutes passed and I checked my watch… more minutes passed and I checked my phone for messages… nothing.
With a deep sigh I tucked my hand sin my jacket pockets and turned around, I looked around once more then started walked back towards my house. My phone dropped out of my pocket on to the dewy grass and I knelt down to pick it up, right as my hand brushed the phone, to arms gently slid around me, I relaxed and the familiar arms… I kissed her cheek and smiled. "Hey," She kissed my lips, "Didn't think I would miss this, did you?" She said quietly, "Not for a minute." She laughed softly, "You were walking away!" I turned around in her arms and pushed her to the wet ground, then sat gently down in her lap. She wrapped her arms around me the same as she did before, smiling widely, "I love you," she told me, "I love you too," I responded… I'd loved her all my life.
We sat gently in silence for a few minutes, the grass cold on both of us… Suddenly I stood up and grabbed her hands on the way up, pulling her with me. Then, eyes wide with excitement, "follow me," I said as I pushed her back and took off running, I'm a little faster than her but when she's motivated she'll catch me, easy. Again I tore through the neighbors' yards but this time she was following, now I wasn't cold, or lonely, or tired, I was laughing and smiling and running, uncoordinated because I keep looking back to see where she is. Though I'm running in the direction of my house, that most definitely isn't where we stop. We run straight past it and she's catching up with me now. I stop in the middle of the soccer field, and it takes her but a second to stop next to me, we stood breathing heavily in the middle, and this time she pulled me to the ground to sit, but I stood up immediately, "No no… we're here for a reason," I said through heavy breaths, "Why's that?" "Shhh… you'll find out."
I grabbed her hand and held it as I walked, we talked side by side even though she was following me, after a few minutes we arrived at the farther soccer field from humanity, 28 acres from all humanity, right next to a forest, I sat down in this damp grass once more and she followed with out question, I scooted until I was in front of her and slowly pushed her on to her back without pressing my weight on her, she looked up at me, and I smiled and laid down next to her while keeping eye contact, then, still smiling, I looked straight up at the sky. She was still looking at me, I giggled, and whispered "Just look…" and she did… the sky was beautiful, a full moon, and bright, glowing stars shining through the lightest grey clouds I had ever seen.
For hours we pulled each other closer and talked softly of our hopes and dreams… and about how at this moment they were all coming true. I looked at my watch again and my mother would wake any minute now, we stood up still holding each other and stood in the middle of the field, with out only lighting the night sky. We started directly into each other's eyes and slowly leaned closer and closer until our lips met softly, and we held this for second still staring into each others' eyes, we kissed again, and again, each kiss getting deeper and more passionate then again gradually slowing down.. she was controlling my actions and emotions and I liked it. I hugged her tightly before we walked hand in hand back to my house, she kissed me once more on my door step and once again I climbed up those creaky stairs and went to bed to get two hours of sleep… I was just getting in bed when mom's alarm rang.. a sigh of relief because I didn't get caught… somehow I didn't think I would be sleeping tonight.
