Liberation
by Artemis Obscure
She's dancing barefoot in the rain
at 9.15 am.
Dancing to her haunting tuneless rhythm
on the wet tarmac road.
Watter dripping from her hair
as the neighbours whisper, "She's i-n-s-a-n-e!"
The wind whips at her drenched clothes
but she doesn't care, doesn't care!
She's dancing to her own song
in the middle of the road!
in the pouring rain!
She's accompanied by thunder beats
and flashing lights
in the morning sky.
There's no day like Today
for her to dance in the pouring rain.
The nieghbours all say she's crazy.
But they'd never admit
that they wished they were as free as her.
