A city in r.u.i.n.s
Evil triumphs over all
Where is your caped crusader?
(Your superhero that saves the day)

I stand proudly above the city
Cap in the wind
The media presents me as the newest menace
(In the shadows is where I belong)

Burning fires
Horrible beginnings
Screams are heard
(I snap back to my reality)

You stand, afraid
Life slowl you
Danger is in front of you
(Damsel in Distress)

I set you down to safety
Away from harsh realizations
I never meant to fix you
(Love is my Kryptonite)

The media s.p.l.a.s.h.e.s me across front pages
I am the new celebrity
Fame is not what I'm after
(I just want to save the day)

Identities are n
Masks are removed
They gasp at what is underneath
(I am merely man)

A city rebuilt
Justice reigns over all
Where is your caped crusader?
(I am standing over my city proudly)

I am ready to save the day
The mask s l i p s on
I am your hero
(Yet in the shadows I still hide)

A/N: I watched Batman Begins earlier and got into a superhero mood. I love superheroes a lot, so I wrote a poem about a superhero standing proudly over his city. I know superheroes can be either sex, but I wanted a more cliché type hero. So here we are. "I never meant to fix you" is Krzcowzgomoo's line, and she wished for me to use it. I hope you enjoyed it! I don't particularly like the title. I am open to suggestions!
