6Me and Jade Have A Talk
As I went to school this morning, I felt totally calm. I walked slowly through the hallways to my locker. Everyone was pointing at me and a group of girls looked daggers at me. I looked up ahead to see if Jade was at her locker waiting for me like always. I could see her now; Mike was standing beside her.
I carefully went up to them putting my left hand behind my back.
" Hey!"
" Yo!"
" 'Sup?"
We stood there like idiots for a second. Jade was looking at me strangely and Mike was slowly inching his way behind Jade as if he was suddenly afraid of me.
" YOU! "
" What? I didn't do it!"
" Guilty conscience eh?"
Mandi came up behind me and pulled on my left hand. I smiled at her weakly.
" I think our friendship is strong enough for you to tell me about this"
Mandi threw my hand out in front of me.
Jade gasped.
Mike's eyes grew big.
Mandi was standing there with her hands on her hips.
" Igotproposedbyluke" I mumbled.
" What? I can't hear youuuu!" Mandi put a hand to her ear.
I sighed.
" I got proposed by Luke" I said a notch louder.
Both Jade and Mandi squealed.
" When did this happen? Yesterday?"
Mandi was all smiles. Jade was jumping up and down like a lunatic. Mike just stood there with a lost expression.
" Yes… after school he came to pick me up and we went and ate supper at Joey's" I explained.
The bell rang.
I started to move.
" We'll talk at lunch, Missy" Mandi called after me.
I'm never going to get peace around here, and I'm in serious need of a massage.
" So, I think we need to talk Celeste" Jade said in a serious tone.
" What about? I told you everything that happened yesterday night"
If Jade was a boy I think this scene would be bad
Not about that, I … I need to talk to you about Mike" She was turning shy again.
" What's up? Is Mike finally grossing you out now?" I snickered.
" I need to break up with him," Jade said firmly.
I was surprised
" What's going on between you two? I thought you two were into each other! Did he make a move on you? I'll kill him!" I said my voice steadily getting higher. I mimed strangling a neck. Jade shook her head.
" I just guess I'm not into this whole relationship thing, I mean I don't want to get into a relationship right now, there's a lot to do… to see" Jade trailed on.
Woah! Deep or what?
"I… well I guess that's your… well… what do you want me to do?"
" How did you break up with him?" she suddenly asked me.
" Well, I technically didn't now that I think of it. I sort of drifted away from him. Okay well I ignored him," I added after she gave me a look " then Spring Break came along and then he kind of got it I guess"
I laughed as I reflected back. I hooked up with Luke just when Spring Break began.
" Well, I think I should just see if I can talk to him about this. I mean if I do the same thing he's gonna feel bad right?"
I nodded.
" Well, that's settled then!" I said brightly.
" Celeste" Jade began.
" Yes darlink?"
" Have you seriously thought about marrying Luke?"
I burst out laughing. Jade looked confused.
" Jade I have never been so sure in my life. Besides do you honestly think I'm going to get married now?"
Jade looked sheepish.
" Were probably going to get married when I'm done university. I don't think I wanna get married now" I giggled.
" I'm really happy for you, you know that? I honestly think you're gonna be happy with him. I've seen you two before and I've seen the way he looks at you. He's in love with you!"
I hugged her. She hugged me back.
" Wherever you go or do, you know I'll always be your best friend forever" said Jade.
"Thanks Jade, the same goes for me. I can never ask for a better friend than you"
I was close to practically crying.

Friends are so great aren't they? They understand each other completely and are always there for you. BOOHOO! Tear, tear
So know we know she said yes! How exciting! I should have wrote in detail how she responded and felt, blah blah blah…
I'll see if I can fit that in a chapter ahead…
That was the only chapter that I spent such a long time going through over and over (the Luke one). Yes, I was nervous.
