"Get up, you stupid human!" the demon creature yelled. I rolled over onto my side, laying sideways on the futon to look away from him.

"No thank you," I bluntly said, trying to go back to sleep.

"Now!"

"How about you go eat some cat nip?" I groaned. Then, I mumbled, "You damn cat."

Silence only rang for a moment when I heard a scratching tear on my blanket, "I'M NOT A CAT!"

Hi. My name is Kathy. I'm a senior in high school on planet Earth. The "cat" that has anger problems is Alexander. He's not really a cat. He looks like one, though... other than the fact that there are spikes on his back. He calls himself a Matoba. That's what all the creatures like him call themselves. He's a rare Matoba, too, because most people that see him comment about his rarity. He's supposed to be my guardian.

Matoba's are guardians to certain people. Usually, they get a creature that resembles a lion or a monkey. The certain people that receive these Matobas usually are the ones that need protection from some sort of even being. I didn't receive my Matoba through that reason.

... I'm not allowed to be injured...

"What the hell, Alex?" I yelled, poking my fingers through the holes in my futon. "Now my bed is ruined!"

"Of course, I wouldn't injure you, though," he grunted. He was irritated about something silly again.

"What's wrong?" I snickered. "Did I forget to put out the cat nip again?"

"NO!" he screamed. Then, his attitude totally changed, his eyes looking around, "We're being watched."

We're always in danger when we're being followed, so the thought of being followed didn't faze me, "So what?"

"They could try to injure you!" Alex exclaimed scornfully.

I'm not supposed to be injured. I haven't ever been injured since the day I was born. The doctors found out that I had a rare blood-type that maybe only four other people in the world have. They begged the heavens to send down a Matoba to protect me, since any injury (and by injury, I mean by somehow bleeding) could kill me. So along came Alexander.
