Happy Endings

Choked sobs

Hushed voices

Gentle words.

It always ended the same;

Apologies and promises

That were never kept

But still meant the world.

Cries silenced

Tears stopped

Words shared

Kisses welcomed.

Their bodies joined together

Infatuation and devotion

At the highest point for them

And they were still rising.

Soft whimpers

Hidden fears

Dying hopes

It all goes back to

How it was before;

Maybe happy endings

Aren't for everyone.
